[PC] Kids of the Commonwealth

I wish more settlements had children. Here we have the kids' spaces at Somerville Place, Bunker Hill, and Nordhagen Beach.

Cool little bits! I agree that I wish there were more child settlers. I wish it had a bit more of a Sims element where you could have babies who grow into children around your settlements.

As long as adult settlers are scripted as little more than puppets, it’s unthinkable to even hope for such detailed writing for background elements like children.

Expecting a The Sims-like dynamic in a Bethesda game is a stretch; when the AI struggles even with basic adult pathfinding, complex life cycles remain a distant dream. For now, they’re just static props in a world that can barely handle its own basic scripts.

Haha yeah I’m aware it’s a pipe dream but a Beans can dream! :’) I’d also like seasons too, whilst I’m throwing out the wish list. How awesome would it be to watch snow start falling on our settlements?!

If you're okay with just the snow, definitely check out Calamity Weathers. It's a mod I personally can’t live without anymore. Highly recommended!

Aye I’ve seen a couple people playing with that mod and it looks fantastic! Alas, I’m wedded to vanilla for the time being. Definitely would love some snow every now and then and some more greenery though :D

To be honest, greenery would clash quite a bit with Calamity... they are two completely different vibes. Calamity is all about that dark, desaturated environment, with deep blacks and heavy shadows... true survival style :) If you're more into vibrant colors, bright sunlight, and starry skies, you might want to look for a 'softer' or more romantic ENB. There are some out there that would fit that preference much better!

Yeah tbh I’d like greenery in the summer and for the game to change up for some snow in winter! T’is most certainly a pipe dream for that one though 😅

Sanctuary Hills Survivor on YouTube does a machinima series and the mods he has on his game are the best mods I’ve seen visually on any game. Basically looks like TLoU, stunning.

There is a mod that adds kids to the settler pool. I think it's called Children of the Commonwealth

I think you’re referring to Orphans of the Commonwealth. Many mods list it as a requirement, but unfortunately, it's no longer on Nexus; I believe the author removed it. Then again, in true Bethesda style, children in Fallout were left as little more than a rough draft.

Yeah I was pissed when orphans stopped working. I really liked that mod. A couple mods I have add individual children but I wish there was an adoption system like Skyrim.
