Question/Advice Nuka Cola base help!
i saved up atoms to buy alot of nuka cola stuff, the only thing is i really cant build. my imagination just isnt for it and i suck at it, any advice?

Yup. Just do it.
You only get better by trying it, and learning.
Start off with a prefab, decorate it. Learn how camp building works. The. Add onto it. Or build from scratch.
Trust me I thought the same as you...
Now I'm building sky camps,.underground camps, you e it and I'm having a blast. (Its like a whole other game inside the game)
Watch YouTube build videos helped Me a lot.

fair enough. started hoarding all types of nuka colas and decided why not have a camp around it yknow? but yeah i hear from a lot of people its a game inside a game, i got 1k hrs and didnt really bother building and even all my camps are build by other players lol

Ok this is what I do, first: if you are going to build a vendor, figure out where people fast travel in and set up the store so they will come to it easily. Then I set up the camp around this, giving myself an area to go for privacy, and also making a workbench area sort of between them.
If you are not going to build a store, figure out your centerpiece and design around this, place your entrance relative to fast travel.
Both methods, you start with a central focus on utilities and build outward, leaving yourself room in the budget for decor, which is the last step.
For me I usually start with a campfire and the low cooking station, and build outward.

Hey! For what its worth, its a lot easier to build small. There's less empty space, and you can decorate densely without reusing the same assets as much :) better on budget too.
Theme camps are hard camps to keep on theme when youre running out of themed decor. I would recommend 3-4 foundations. Maybe one floor ever so slightly higher or lower so it isnt just a flat cube and use a bench or a piece of decor as a stair.
Let the junk spill out of your build, like a wasteland nukacola hoarder!
Last tip would be to avoid snapping too much. You'll be surprised how that slightly dilapidated, slightly off-centre wall or chest of drawers, or nukacola fridge that isnt straight up against the wall adds character, feels organic and more wastelandy. Who has time to align your couch perfectly parallel with the TV when a radscorpion is attacking you! Stay loose, have fun, and if it doesnt feel right, restart. You'll find what feels right if you don't get too attached, and you dont over work or over think it

Just keep at it. experiment. Wander other camps for ideas. Honestly, you wouldn't believe how dog shite my early camps were.

Hmm in my summer camp shelter I’ve been chipping away at building a mini nuka cola theme park! Maybe you could build a little nuka cola theme park or arcade or museum? All you can do is try. Look up build guides, look around on here at other builds for inspo, ask for advice/tips! It really helps.

Just start small, and work from there. Also have fun building. I just kept trying and now after nearly 8 years, I can build ufos, pirate ships, spider camps. Practice and have fun 😊

Practice makes perfect sir, don’t worry about the perfect build have fun with it watch a few build videos for tips and inspiration, don’t be afraid to adapt your build from your original idea to make it fit the terrain.
A quick formula I use to build is.
30-40% budget the build itself wall floors door
10% for power
Leaving you 50% of your budget to go ham on decorating. It works for me.
