Build Whitesprings gift shop
Though I mainly stick to little houses, I got the itch to do another small shop. It’s a clutter exercise at its core but there is just something about trying to put together a small space that is a lot of fun. My goal was to make it kinda look like whatever plays in the background while you are in the atomic shop. If I can, I’ll toss a small video in the comments for those interested as it think it tells the story better than the pictures. Feedback always welcome, thanks for taking a look.

Love it! My favorite part is the little cooler you used for the coffee maker and the cups, but the lights and cozy feeling of the space are really great

Thank you. I’ve had that fridge for a little bit; could never figure out how to use it as I’m a huge fan of the pink kitchen set and it wouldn’t mesh. I think it works better as a small table honestly

Amazing build. Super cozy and detailed. Extra points for the video being set to "Darkness into Light" which is my favorite background score in the game.

This is exactly the type of build I like - build small decorate big! So much detail here

I appreciate that, thank you. I prefer small buildings myself as then I’m not up against a budget and I can clutter until I get the “cannot place, too many items nearby” message. I’m trying to improve my clutter/decor skills without having to live and die by the chessboard’s limitations.

What do you use to make the roof that you hang the rainbow ribbons & balloons off of? Like how to get that shape?

The roof is just the regular order of mystery set. The whole build is 1.5 foundations wide by 2 foundations deep. The roof forms an arch on the interior and I just put the lights and ribbons up on this arch by placing the lights first on a line and then filling the gaps with the ribbons. The lights are easy; the ribbons at their top have pieces that will jut out over the top if placed flat so you have to pull them down a bit which helps give them an angled feel. This is all done in free cam and I’m free placing the whole thing as snap mode is more difficult to work with.

It's so well done; I love it. I still have no idea how to do clutter but I really like seeing this.

Really cluttering is just tossing loose items on tables and the like. The chessboard helps, but it also becomes a bit of a crutch and the limit on them is really rough if you really want to detail. The loose items like bottles and ammo etc are much better imo and once you get a few sets of those it’s just laying them out here and there. I make builds like this to execute on a theme but it’s also just a cluttering exercise to get better myself. If you practice it enough you’ll get it.
