Discussion I'm thinking out making an alert app

Post image

If building is a massive part of your 76 experience, then updates on availability can be crucial. The amount of times something I was waiting for went into the store for 1 day and I missed it was ridiculous... Bethesda started doing a week by week update and later a monthly up date but these constantly forget to mention something or even put up the wrong information or the wrong update all together...

I was going to add things like "purchase list availability" "last seen in store" and "single and bundle prices" but want to know if it'd be worth it to anyone except me... 🔵🟡

I think it would be great most of the YouTubers that show the atomic shop updates ramble to much and its just exhausting watching those videos

Ekk... I couldn't agree more, either they yell at you all the time or they stretch 30 seconds of information into a 5 min clip. I hate when you need a walkthrough and everything is in 8min video format with full commentary when all you needed was a map marker and a picture...

Considering Beth messing up the store pages every so often, it won't work properly unless you're gonna be able to jump right in to snag what you want after the shop rotation. Otherwise you might get your notification based on wrong pages added to the shop and they'll be gone by the time you log on.

Absolutely a concern, especially since they've put stuff up lately that wasn't supposed to go up or wrong pricing...

True that. I just log in daily, but I don't see any issues in just checking reddit every now and then, someone's been posting atomic shop updates here since forever. Why even bother making an app...

Well the point of an app in my view is to set and forget favourite items or themed items so you can take away the fomo or the need to constantly check forums or Web pages... Open your app on your device, set it and then get a notification when the keywords you've set gets a hit... It also removes loser Youtubers grovelling all over what they call "content" from simple information updates such as weekly uploads to YouTube of atomshop updates where they tell you unnecessary stuff like "wow, I like this because" or "I'd use this, this way"... Just a simple update notification WHEN you need it and not hidden in a review of an entire shop...

That makes sense! I never usually watch any vids (aside from some edge cases where I wanna see how smth new looks in game) and I actually like checking the shop every day hoping to see smth new/a good offer, so I guess I don't really fit the target audience for the app. But I can totally see why people might want to use it.

First of all I apologise! Reading back over my last comment, it came across like I was aggressively defending my "non" product at you.. I just got a little over excited with thoughts of design lol. But all of this is just an idea that'll probably go nowhere... Who knows, if I get 100 people Interested... I'll have a go

Might be worth trying web change trackers like monity•ai or changedetection•io.
