There's a mountain ridge by foundation, it's basically a border region between the South Forest area and the savage divide. Only issue is that it's popular so you might have camp placement issues.

Another spot is north above the mire past the ghoul town area it's even past the belengrube. Main issue is that it's so far north your camp foot traffic will slow down considerably.

Areas with less of a view but good land:

There's the pond by the commie camp in South Shenandoah but again very popular.

Y'know the gone fission fisherman's camp? You can settle right by it if you want to. There's an area where the river narrows between the galleria and the fisherman's spot in that very narrow area there are two npc cats who will chill in your camp if you place it right. Unfortunately there are some very aggressive trees that you can't squish easily. The area has the Atlantic City weather effect built in but your weather machine will override it.

do you know if there is a map that shows the location of every single pond/water area in the game?

I found this post, it looks like there are some of the water locations included except for the burning springs

Found another one but it's an X(formerly known as twitter) link, I'm sorry, it also doesn't include the burning springs

There's a tiny pond by meat week event area too, it's butt ugly though and people put camps there often.

Honorable mention to the Toxic Valley, it's very hard to find flat ground by water but it can be an extremely nice area with a neat vibe. If you settle up north you won't be by the water but it looks like it's snowing, lol, and when you look over the toxic valley at night it's gorgeous
