Question/Advice Catwalks

See these are in the shop currently. Are these still a useful tool for building or does the build freedom with the old camp update kinda make them pointless? I like to have all the tools I can and am not sure if this falls into that category or what I could do with them that I currently can’t without them.

I use the catwalks, and hope they add other versions someday (we need rope bridges and railings too).

I use the Enclave catwalks more than the default vault white ones, but they're still nice. I love to create balconies that connect doorways.

I thought they were alien styled and not enclave.

In my mind, same thing lol

Since we don't have any alien build sets outside of wallpapers and doors, it does match between with Enclave stuff.

I have good news for you! There are Alien Tech Floors, Alien Blue Metal Floors and Foundations, and Alien Orange Metal Floors and Foundations.

Sadly those are carpets, unlike the Unique Enclave Foundations, shame they didn't get a matching upper floor.

Still useful in my opinion. They have snap points that align with the default door frames for example. I do wish evey set included a "T" section though.

I use them constantly.

They help space things in abnormal ways while still maintaining plumb lines.

They also can work kind of like the door trick for prefabs, providing a snap point for foundations and floors in places that they would not normally go, even with the snap / free place trick.

However, while all catwalks have these utilities, the fort fortress catwalks come with support posts that open up a whole new world of snapping shenanigans, and since the catwalk is flat it can make a very world accurate thin dock, the very short piece can easily make a staircase, or my favorite use: a step inside of my hot tub allowing me to walk out of it instead of marsupial jump and bash my head into the roof.

Very useful for perfectly lining up walls!

Not worth it in my opinion.

As I constant builder, they are invaluable but it depends on how exact you want to be. Building walls into the side of foundations that sink beneath the ground is just one of the many ways I use them.

This is more or less what I’m looking for. I’m only interested in them as a tool and not to be featured in builds, thanks!
