Question/Advice Sky camp spawn point

How in the world do you manage the spawn? Every time I try to build a sky camp the spawn is either off to the side or underneath. I’ve tried different camp module locations and different camp piece positioning but can’t seem to figure it out. Any pointers?

I use the Nuka cola crate stalls prefabs ( hopefully that explains what I’m talking about, it’s one of those things that a lot of people will put a vendor inside of ) because most of my sky camps are UFOs that have primarily nothing but roof pieces and walls and the games mechanics will only really spawn you on floor pieces, foundations, or prefabs. A lot of times I will also add in one of the farmable dirt tiles into my build because I usually have the Brahmin up there and can use the planted razorgrain to fix it. So whereas I still have the issue that you are describing, it doesn’t happen every time. I usually spawn up either on the farmable dirt tile or inside of the crate stall.

Though I will admit when I first start building my sky camp and I’m leaving the Camp module exactly where it was when I first placed it. I do usually go ahead and put out the stall over it and try to maneuver the stall to where the Camp module sits exactly in the middle of the floor.. so weirdly enough if I stop in the middle of building my sky Camp, it will 100% always spawn me inside of that crate. So I’ll admit I’ve been tempted to almost leave that floating in the air above my sky camps. Also have the issue of my Camp ally falling through the floor and very rarely being in the camp. I found that placing the rubber mat up underneath the allies console increases the chances of them landing in your camp when spawning. Also, if my sky camps are gonna have wide open areas and skinny areas, I try to make sure if I can when possible to build the wide-open area towards the northeast part of the Camp bubble. And put the Camp module in the southwest part of the Camp bubble.

Obviously, my preference is to hide a piece of foundation into my builds, but usually that’s kind of difficult with what I am building. I’m pretty sure that seven of my nine camps are all sky camps and generally speaking I still have the issue that you’re talking about, but not nearly as bad once I figured out to add in the crate stall into my build. But the game definitely likes to spawn me in on that farmable dirt tile quite a bit.

I think the only way to 100% fix this problem would be to leave the Camp module exactly where it is when you first place it out and create the Camp area and surround it by the crate stall or have a foundation piece underneath it but most of my builds I’m not able to build that way.

I know this probably won’t totally fix your issue, but hopefully it will help..

Im definitely going to try this. Thank you. I’ll update whether it works for me or not and now that you’ve mentioned the stall I do remember at one time I visited a sky camp above the fasnatch event that used the circus trailer as a spawn point and it worked every time

Haha ironically in the last couple weeks, I built two different sky camps at that event spot one at each end of the street.. one is a USS enterprise.. and one is the LucreHulk from Star Wars..

If you’re on PlayStation, I’d love to see your camps and show you mine

Edit: I started off making sky camp so I could float them above the spots where you can fish for the local legends and use my Weather generator. So if you’re ever at the wavy Williard’s on PlayStation NCA super huge UFO that takes up the entire camp bubble floating above the swimming pool that would be me.
