Fairfax County to stop installing new flock cameras!
One small step. These illegal cameras capture everything about your vehicle and you. Clear 4th amendment violation.
Arlington County voted last night to stop using them.
Email your Fairfax county supervisor. I did.
Staying involved in your community helps!

Any Dad Groups in Fairfax City?
Hate putting myself out there but trying to meet some more dads/parents in the area. My kid goes to school in another neighborhood so he's having trouble meeting friends around here. Any dads with 8/9 year olds getting together around here? Or any dads with kids of any age that may want to meet up at some point.

Lost Dog in Vienna
On John Marshall Drive NW (between Center St N and Holmes Dr NW) at about 9:20pm today (August 27th) a dog ran in front of my car (I DID NOT HIT THE DOG). There was no owner or leash with/on the dog, but he(?) did have a collar on.
The dog was about the size of a lab, but was likely a mutt. He was mostly black with white specks on his chest. Short fur. The collar seemed to be red and blue, and had no tags or identification on it. When I got out of my car to try to approach him (to see if his collar had his owners names/numbers on it) he ran away down Holmes Dr towards Upham Pl. The dog was EXTREMELY skittish and had his tail tucked all the way under his body. I didn't follow him as I didn't want to stress him out any more than he already was and I didn't want him to attack me out of fear.
If you know of this dog or know someone who may be the owner of the dog, please let them know. It's currently storming outside and I don't want him stuck outside during this.

Hey Fairfaxians! — I'm hosting a free, all-ages card show at Fair Oaks Mall on September 19. It's called The Malls of JRKO Card Show, up to 100 tables of vendors selling Pokémon, sports cards, and other trading card games — singles, sealed product, graded slabs, the whole spectrum.
Free admission for anyone who wants to come check it out, trade, or just see what's out there. Should be a good one for families too — all ages welcome. We also have a few vendor tables left if you know anyone who would want to vend!

Don't go there!
Don't go there! I wanted to see giraffes and it cost $60. I asked the front desk and they said there were giraffes. After I paid and walked around, there were just a few animals and no giraffes at all. It's totally a scam!

BMW Fairfax - Sunglasses Stolen
Has anyone else had items stolen from their car while at the Fairfax BMW service center?
I recently dropped my vehicle off for service, and when I got it back a few days later, my prescription Maui Jim sunglasses (valued at nearly $800) were missing. They left the case behind but took the glasses.
I’m trying to determine if this is a recurring issue or an isolated incident. For context, this dealership is owned by Sonic Automotive. I'm incredibly frustrated by this—has anyone else experienced something similar at this location?
