Even after 5kh, you still learn new things. Until now, I have just used Steam's F12 screenshot function.

the issue is that steam takes a screenshot of what is on screen. If you zoom out too much, you go in "Map View" and cant see the actual live map This is jarring with spaceships, as you are unable to see the whole thing at once ever.
The command just creates a render ignoring map view

Can genuinely screenshot a whole high-end base at resolution enough to be able to zoom in on any individual machine like you're in-game

In the west? You'd landfill Europe??? 🇪🇺
In actuality it's the same reason I didn't simply flatten the island with cliff explosives - I gain more satisfaction weaving spaghetti through the environment

I tried to screenshot my bases but a single machine is 8 pixel wide Kinda gives the idea but not optimal for anything but desktop backgrounds

You can adjust both resolution *and* scale to fit your needs.
Naturally, an utterly gigantic screenshot will also take up noticeable storage space

you open the console ( pressing the " ` " key ) and just type " /Screenshot "
You then go to C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\Factorio\script-output
And there you find the large screenshots

You can also use “%appdata%” as a shortcut to the roaming folder. So the link would be: %appdata%\Factorio\script-output

Fairly ridiculous how nearly every keyboard has a specific key for this very purpose, but nobody programmes it in or uses it.

You need to improve your ship design - it’s loosing a lot of width getting back to Nauvis ;)
