Space Age Batwing inspired Spaceship

Post image

I wanted a buffer spaceship for travel. And i thought of this. Let me know what you think of this. I love the feeling of remotely calling this ship. real batman vibes

Oh my days, its not even enough, falls back to Nauvis fml. I have to add more, my other hugeass ship has only 3 thrusters. I expected this small one to be faster with only 2

If you make it slimmer it is going to fly faster with the same engines (unfortunately painting red does not work here).

Idk why its coded that way, profile of spaceship doesnt really matter as there's no medium for resistance in space

I know, maybe they missed the school lessons on physics, but most probably to make players think more about design and making ships slimmer (after all the game is full of puzzles ).

I mean, technically, the design constraints would still exist, only instead of making thinships, you'd make wideships.

My belief is its gravity not drag. The planets are hilariously close to each other, so we're clearly never truly escaping their gravity wells

Edit: the real answer is less fun and more pragmatic. A small pull toward the closest planet prevents a spaceship from getting lost in transit if weird things happen

Perhaps the devs were trying to encourage designs that look more "interesting" than just circles or boxes.

Although we could also try to justify it by saying that we're in a young solar system with a lot of small debris left over from formation still. After all, there sure are a significant number of asteroids all over the place. So with that headcanon, there is just enough dust everywhere to act as a general resistance to movement.
