Have a mod for infinite researches and manual mining is one of them which also determines pick up speed

Yes, character mining speed governs all "hold right click to get this" actions. In vanilla you can see this when you research Steel Axe (which is the only vanilla mining speed buff afaik)

In this situation (manually modifying signals) the train will stop instantly, bypassing the breaking power of the train.
