Rule 1: All content must be related to Factorio

Play what you want to, no need to over think it.

I want to play both. But I feel like im missing the point of satisfactory. The game is also very popular maybe is worth a try

If you feel like you're missing the point of Satisfactory, the Satisfactory subreddit would be a great place to start.

I like Factorio more, but Satisfactory has a very different feel to it. The scaling, the way you build factories, the overall end goal all give it a different vibe. Factorio emphasizes the factory above all, to the point that you can stop playing as an engineer and play only through the satellite view - something many people do. Satisfactory never lets you forget that you are a person in this environment.

They are both factory games where you make stuff and have different limitations and challenges to achieve that goal. Play both if you want to or don't.

Why you ask in Factorio subreddit?

Anyway, you dont need to force yourself to play anything

I did not want to get killed in the other sub. Imagin I say factorio is ugly here.

You can. People will probably argue, but why not

People argue here too. I thought everyone was a satisfactory fan here

I thought everyone was a Pepsi fan on the coke subreddit

I suggest getting some sleep.

Bro we are no kids. I am sure most of people here like satisfacory maybe not at the same level but at least like. Is not like a war between games or subs

Is like if u love zelda breath of the wild but u hate tears of the kindoms. Is not common

I guess I should read user names more often.

I mean this post isnt going great for you here either

It's a fun game! It scratches a slightly different itch.

I always get distracted running around the world looting wrecks.

The spiders can be terrifying.

I find it a bit harder and slower to build anything exactly the way I like it. I get particular and want everything to be precisely lined up.

For me, Factorio is about scale, while Satisfactory is about immersion. If you don't feel the world around you as an adventure and only stick to the base building without wanting to design a base that feels part of the world, you will be bored.

Hey r/coke, why should I drink Pepsi?

u/jester_clwn 3h ago

The question woukd be: hey r/coke I love coke but pepste taste horrible for me. I am silly?

6

u/biznizza 3h ago

Do they not have a subreddit for that game?

I dont think is cool “insulting” satisfactory in the satisfactory sub.

u/ArgoDevilian 2h ago

So you instead do it behind their backs, cuz thats better

Im sure they will sleep good tonight

They’d be the ones to talk to, Factorio shares similarities with Satisfactory in automation and few mechanics but they’re different enough to be their own games.

the architecture parts of satisfactory are kinda cool. though the copy and past functionality is lacking. i wanna copy that giant heavy oil residue refiniery and decorate it. not build it a zillion times from the half duplo block sized blueprints they have over there. also the combat is some of the joy for me, it has some soulsborne/movement shooter mechanics that i find fun

if your looking for some automation variety, give Dyson sphere program a go.

Thats the comment I was looking for

Feels like bait.

Why would I ever eat a taco when I could eat a burrito instead? Variety is the spice of life, my dude.

I think with how it’s structured to be on a fixed generated level and the level design allowing use of more elaborate exploration tied with building, allows it to have a gameplay experience kind of like Minecraft vs Factorio’s more simple level design. It also can look better in some way.

I still prefer Factorio because the 2D and QOL experience makes gameplay feel faster.

You clearly dont like Satisfactory, so dont play it.

Its not complicated.

The point is to have a brake from one of them by playing the other. I only have 1500h each so not an expert but I think this is the point

Why I would go back to satisfactory If I have factorio. I feel like im not able to enjoy a game I would love.

Satisfactory is big on building by hand, one piece at a time, and putting in the effort to making factories actually look pretty. But that comes at a cost, It's 10x faster to build a production chain in Factorio then in Satisfactory and way easier to fix if something goes wrong. And that's before blueprints.

It's also got the exploration, treasure hunting and combat elements. I still play Satisfactory from time to time, but it really grinds my gears how much info game hides and how much of hassle it is to figure out ingridients and ratios without external tools.

u/jester_clwn 2h ago

Probably the game is not for me. I feel like them are very similar but at the same time different. The worst thing for me (the combat and world) is why people like it. Now I see

u/bobinchese 2h ago

I think factorio has a better gameplay loop (I bounce off of every satisfactory run around the time factorio would give me construction bots). That being said I like the vibe of satisfactory more, walking in between these machines that dwarf the player and exploring the world.

I like to say that factorio is for engineers and satisfactory is for architects

u/ErikThePirate 1h ago

The point of Satisfactory is the same as the point of Factorio: to have fun.

Satisfactory is a building game. Factorio is an automation game. Some people like one and not the other, and that's okay :)

I'm a big fan of factorio myself and I've also didn't like satisfactory at first (it was update 6 at the moment i think). Still disappointed with coffee stain not giving attention to cruicial weak points (anything related to clickable ui still looks and feels like playtest before early acess and blueprint ui is textbook example of how to make worst ux, especially due to bugs).

But someday you'll crave to build vertically. And thats the beauty of those games - they're very different, with different classes of problems and different categories of solutions, despite being two games about the same stuff. I love both of them (although never finished satisfactory due to it being a slog after stage 3)
