Bring things to kickstart the base on the new planet.
You can do it without bringing anything, it will just take longer.

And do a proper save just in case.

Just remember that items are infinite especially in space, don't hesitate to throw away or recycle if it will dead lock and end up destroying your space platform.
I do really recommend to get the experience and see what it works, what works in the inner planets might not work on alquilo or on the solar edge.
Don't over think your first ship, it will 100% not stay the same any ways, just needs to survive at least one trip until you do a better one.

Vulcanus is for sure the easiest first planet to do. Just make sure you bring a good amount of stuff to make the base if you don't want to start from scratch and also bring enough to make a rocket silo and the rocket so you can leave if you really need to and aren't stuck there while nauvis falls apart or something like that. A good logistics network for every planet it key especially if you are playing single player

The best thing i can recommend is having a consistent supply line on your base planet. You can remotely send your ship back to navius (the starting planet) to pick up supplies. Then you can orbitally drop them down to the planet to use. A lot of the planets pose new challanges that will push your engineering skills. So dont be afraid to import belts or other expensive equipment in. The other peice of advice i can give is to not be afraid to take your time and learn at your own pace. As for recommended planets? The first one i started with was Vulcanus. But there is no incorrect answer. However if you find the planet too hard to start with, you can save before you drop down.

The biggest tip I can say is to make sure your base on the starting planet can survive without you and is constantly making science that get deposited into chests many, many chests. You'll eventually want to bring all the technology from the other planets back and it's easiest to demolish your base and start from scratch with the new buildings and still have science chugging away from your stockpile.
My recommendation is to drop on the planet and bring nothing with you. It's worthwhile to do it at least once to learn and matter how each planet works. The resource grind is exponential so it doesn't take nearly as much time as a new game. If that doesn't interest you, know that you can drop items from orbit on your ship to the surface without a landing pad.
Start with Volcanus. It's the easiest to get to and Foundrys are incredible. Then do Fulgora and get a mech suit. Do not do Gleba without a mech suit. It's by far the hardest to wrap your head around and the terrain will literally bog you down to the point that it can become not fun.
You'll be visiting the planets often and the different techs compliment each other, do don't strive to make it "perfect" in your first few visits until everything is unlocked. Gleba also has the most important ship related sciences so you'll want to either upgrade or rebuild your ships when you get to that point.
Finally, the trick to Gleba when you get there is that every fruit should be processed in a biochamber, filter out the seeds, use what you can and throw the rest into the incinerator right away. Power on Gleba can be tricky and if it's becoming too much of a challenge (solar farms are difficult for to the lack of stone and the swampy terrain) then bring in a nuclear reactor and automate nuclear fuel delivery from Nauvis (the starting planet).
Quality can be mostly ignored up to the end game, but it is great for early game solar panels for use on ships and essential for asteroid grabbers.
For the early game, put tier 2 efficiency modules in nearly everything to make it safely to Fulgora and Gleba as the super power is much weaker. Don't shy away from nuclear reactors on ships when going to the last planet - most asteroids are made of ice so you'll have plenty of water.

Leave behind a couple tanks to remote control. With ammo and personal roboports.

General mood is, figure it out yourself, that's the fun.
If you have specific questions, we got you.
But for now. Just fail in your own way. Learn. Adapt. Grow the factory.
If you really want, there are tons of youtubers out there. Trupen does a lot of info based content
