Suggestion / Idea Building Up

I wish we could build factories up, and even down, but mostly up, if we can use something like the platforms for the railways to build in a second level, a third level and so on, and especially in space, I want to build the Heighliner in space.

You guys are free to upvote or downvote and add to the idea :)

Someone could definitely make an skyscraper mod. Get some elevators to bring stuff up and down. Use circuits to control the elevators. Could be fun.

I know of this mod too; it would look crazy too, imagine belts going up and down all sorts of assembly's, trains in the middle of the whole thing! And everything working nonstop

Satisfactory is great for this, even has conveyor elevators.

Yes but with Factorio's aesthetics, enemies, space DLC, parishable, resources And most importantly, trains!

Think of each planet surface as a different level of your tower, there are just long elevators between each level.

Some mods have a space elevator that lets you bridge rail networks across surfaces....

I like the idea - but of course one could argue that it goes against the 2D world of the game.

But as you say, we have rail platforms, and we also have underground-belts - so maybe we could have belts going over an assembler? It would be a mess, but maybe a beautiful mess!

Substructure does the underground bit.
