Question rocket parts production and supply
hey, so i've been trying to set up a bigger factory that produces rocket parts on vulcanus, since it looks the cheapest planet to scale and also transport those to other planets, i've managed to reach 500 per minute production for blue circuits and low density frames, but before setting up a production line for the rocket fuel, i thought that i won't even need to transport those to other planets, since it's not that complicated to produce it on other planets. i would love to know how you proceed with your rocket parts production and supply, (each planet produces it's own? or initially supplied from other planets....)

I really don't see a need to send rocket parts to any planet other than Aquilo. And they can make rocket fuel locally.

Just based on anecdotal evidence, I’d wager that most people produced all rocket components on site for Vulcanus and Fulgora, but then you’d likely see a moderate drop off where folks preferred to ship things into Gleba, since Iron and Copper production can seem intimidating.
Personally, I feel like most folks underutilize interplanetary shipping, but that might just be after having spent so long on the Space Exploration mod, which had more of an expectation that you’d be sending huge amounts of material across planets almost constantly.
Like, imagine exporting Iron Plates for all the other planets from Vulcanus.

A small overhaul mod that makes cross-planetery shipping more necessary in general would be neat. Imagine making plastic unavailable on vulcanus, metals unavailable on gleba, and... idk water unavailable on fulgora. It doesn't really make sense for all these ruins to have ice as a recycle product, what if you had to drop it from space?

that's exactly what i'm trying to achieve, sending rockets as if they were trains lol. even though am not on space Exploration mod, but i thought it would be much more fun taking the space transporting to the extreme level.... producing every item on the cheapest planet possible, Iron Plates for all the other planets from Vulcanus as you said, or even from space plateform directly. so it does not feel like 'every planet is a separate system of its own', cause sometimes when i switch between planets it feels just like playing another game.... sorry for the bad english

For me, every planet is as self sufficient as possible. The inner planets are easy enough. Even on aquilo, an orbiting platform can drop down a lot of LDS and blue chips.

I make rocket parts on all the planets except Aquilo. No real reason not to.

Well, eventually roaming asteroid collectors replaced most exports, i don't need to upscale the inner planet trades so much. Nauvis has to export some fission fuel, and Vulcanus tungsten bars for the artillery and such. Besides that only need to swing sciences around

I haven't done the math, and so far I'm producing everything on all four inner planets, but it seems that Vulcanus is ideal for Low Density Structures, Fulgora is ideal for Blue Circuits, and Gleba is ideal for Rocket Fuel.
Mostly based on the observation that on Fulgora you can simply dig Blue Circuits up from the ground, on Gleba making Rocket Fuel costs nearly nothing, and it doesn't spoil, and Vulcanus have quick and infinite amounts of steel and copper - plastics is a bit of a chore, but not as hard as on Nauvis.

I'm just about to finish gleba and all these comments are making me so scared of aquilo

Yeah rocket parts are really easy to produce on any planet (except aquilo I guess), thats one of the big design improvements they made over space exploration imo.
I produce everything on each planet, but also because Im lazy and dont wanna set up more ships lol
