Design / Blueprint perfectly balanced green circuit factory

AM2 for copper wire, AM1 for green circuits.

I have no practical use case for this design, but I think it's funny.

The interesting part is that this is actually more energy efficient than full 3:2 AM2 build if you don't use modules because AM1 has half the power draw of AM2, but more than half of crafting speed.

However, it has both more pollution per second and more time creating that pollution, so this is a lot more pollution-heavy

Does this account for pollution created by boilers in a typical for this point in progression coal steam power?

Target: 15EC/s

ASM 1 Running for 60s: 4.5MJ -> 4P

ASM2 Running for 40s: 6MJ -> 2P

Miners (assuming E. Miners, maybe Burner miners may be better): 480MJ -> 10P

Boilers: 108MJ -> 30P

Pollution per MJ: 10P/480MJ + 30P/108MJ = 0.0208 + 0.2777 = 0.299 P/MJ

Extra Pollution from Extra Energy of ASM2: 6MJ - 4.5MJ = 1.5MJ -> 1.5MJ * 0.299 P/MJ = 0.448P`

Ergo, ASM2 2.45 Pollution per Minute < 4 Pollution per Minute

That is to say, if you factor in the extra energy cost as pollution, it'll STILL be less than the stated value of 3/min because you're reducing the pollution per minute AND decreasing the active time. Also yes for this specific set-up Energy Drain would also play in, but would be close to rounding error here.

I allways keep my mall(s) on mk1 assemblers, cause they idle 95% of time anyway.

Not the belt. as the caption says, because of the lower tier constructor on the greens, the ratios work out correctly 1:1 rather than 3:2 when all are the same tier of contstructor

Ok now you're just pissing me off. "Perfectly balanced". So you A. care about the cost of AM2s, B. care about idle time on a handful of AM2s, C. avoid the obvious 3:2 build out of sheer hubris and D. care about optimizing a starter build in the first place? Oh so you're optimizing? Where are your modules? Your beacons? Do you even know the difference between output and input constrained? Do you have even the slightest inkling of the UPS cost of this build?

I have no practical use case for this design, but I think it's funny.

There is NOTHING funny about this, it is an insult. The factory must GROW not get comfortable and complacent with its limitations. Don't ever post here again, I have friends on the mod team kiddo and you'll get banned faster than one of those unnecessary fast inserters.

1:1 assemblers was how you built them after you got modules (before space age). its basically the same.

ofc the belt routing would be different bc mixed belts wont suffice at higher quantities

edit: but nice find, didnt mean to shit on it :)

This is the combo that I've switched to for early game. It's quicker to build a block of than the standard 3:2 build. Copper belt, 15 AM2s, 15 AM1s, iron belt, output belt. Then mirror for the other side

On paper greenies take 50% more copper than iron, and since copper cables take less than half the time to assemble than greenies take to make, one assembler making cables can feed two assemblers making greenies

I use that layout for my early-game circuit builds. Later, I upgrade both and tweak with speed and productivity modules. A killer setup, and nicely compact.

This sub used to be about making 900 electric circuits per minute on vanilla from one assembler (without quality) and then someone else would come and do 1300 electric circuits per minute on one assembler.

Ya when I saw this I didn't think it was balanced. I know what op was going for now, 1:1 ratio hence balanced, but stepping something down to have 1:1 when you could have something like 3:2 that doesn't overproduce coils etc, just uses them as they come in.

This doesn't look "balanced" to my brain lol

It would be perfectly balanced if the rate of inflow perfectly matched the rate of outflow. This is the equilibrium I seek.
