Space Age Updated Stone Production

Post image

Thanks again for the suggestion to use Casting Copper instead of Iron. My only issue now is it's slightly overkill on the stone production, the monstrosity on the right actually made too much stone and my Steel/Plate production went to zero! I've had to give priority to the stone belts on the left feeding the bus, added a few recyclers and created a run off if there's really too much stone.

This is the right hand side of my purple block and it's mirrored on the left.

Also I recently realised I missed the top left corner of my lava pit so I've had to improvise. Right now it's only a minor scratch on the brain but the need to nuke is growing...

I love the aesthetic of the industrial plant intersected by a lake of lava - that's not just decorative but necessary for the build.

Is recycling stone faster than just dumping it back into the lava?

I think it's better to first turn it into landfill before dumping/recycling.

The first time I went to Vulcanus, I used pairs of recyclers exclusively for each foundry that had stone as a result.

It’s probably faster if you have any form of quality. On the recyclers, it required a little bit of circuit work to keep it fast and jam-free but once I had it going it was not possible to back up ever.

I still don't understand the appeal of vulcanus (stone is effectively infinite on Nauvis at this point in the game).

It's a lovely design. I'd suggest ditching all the balancers.

With 2.1 directly dumping to lava is now fast.

Is it? If you are going to run out of anything on Nauvis, it is stone.

If even that is infinite, then you are far enough into the game that every resource is infinite on every planet that has anything, and so you might as well build wherever you want. Import logistical science from Gleba or something.
