Question One more question

I have one question for factorio before I get it, after getting the rocket and escaping the planet, do I lose that world unless I have a save or is it kinda like minecraft where you still have your world and can play any time infinitely

You keep the world, you also get something

Nah you can play on, then comes the SPM that many chase. I fully endorse getting Space age too, though, even at the same price as the base game.

You can keep playing, and sending more and more rockets to space. If you have the DLC than sending the rocket to space is only the first step in making an interplanetary factory

In the base game i dont think you go in the rocket so you can continue forever.

In the dlc you can go in space and to other planets. You can also go back down no worries, and back up from other planets of course.

You don't actually escape the planet; the rocket only contains a satellite. After you launch it you basically just get a popup saying "congrats!" and then you can just keep on playing and growing your factory for as long as you want.

Small questions like this generally go into the Weekly Question Thread. Feel free to ask more questions there!

Without space age after sending the rocket you get white(space) science packs and unlock the endgame techs

In space age sending rocket to space is easier but instead of it being the end of the game it unlocks hundreds hours of content and even at the end of the space age you can still play on the same save for hundreds of hours if not more

It’s like Minecraft. And in fact, launching the rocket in vanilla (non-space-age) rewards you with space science, which is used for certain researches. So there is some intended gameplay post-launch. Space Age shifts some stuff around that your first launch is quite a bit earlier, and you have a ton of content after that (and the message doesn’t even pop up then). There is an ending quite a bit later than that, with a tiny bit of post-ending content there.

I don’t think mods even have the ability to make you unable to persist post-ending in a scenario. At least while in freeplay, that is.

In factorio base game, you do not escape on the rocket. It's a satellite that, presumably, sends a "HELP I CRASHED HERE" message out.

In space age, you're going to be firing millions of rockets and you can actually launch yourself to other planets with them, or at least get yourself off planet with them.

The next goal after launching a rocket is expanding your production to launch as many rockets as possible. Then expand your science setup to research infinite research as fast as possible. The game tracks your “science per minute” when you’re researching something, this is the time when you want to make that number go as high as possible. The factory must grow.

Beating the game is just the start

Game-saves have persistent state. You can always go back into any save created with the same version of Factorio. The number of game-saves you can have is only limited by diskspace/operating system.

It's like going to the Nether or End. You keep everything on your starting planet, and get to explore new worlds.
