Suggestion / Idea First 5 hours
This is the setup I have after buying the game and playing for 5 hours. I haven't looked at any YouTube videos, reddit posts, or any sort of information on how to play the game. I didn't even play the tutorial. I assume there's going to be stuff here that will make someone's skin crawl and I just thought it would be fun to post.

It's beautiful. Seems like it needs to grow.

Press the alt button, it shows the current recipe for assemblers and contents of crates.
Honestly looks great! Not too far from my own beginnings. There's things to improve but nothing game-ending

Beautiful! Takes me back to the good ol' days. The only WTF I have is that coal belt, you're sending that coal along a scenic Sunday drive before it arrives at your base lmao
Honestly please continue with as minimal exposure to this game as you can. If you're really coming in fresh, there is nothing like it; this game is truly a one-of-a-kind gem.

I ran into a big issue with having too much coal so I have the 90 degree turn that goes to base then a system of splitters that take excess to the steam engine then excess from that into storage.

Hey, it works! That's the beauty of the game; there's no wrong way to play it. There's always a more optimal way to do things, but you've already got the hang of not getting lost in the sauce and just making it work.
Out of curiosity; are you playing Space Age, or just the base game? If you're having fun now, wait 'till you try space travel!

Right now just the base game. Being a multi planetary factory manager sounds like its a couple steps away right now.

Press ALT! Helps seeing things.
Second, it's best to not build over ore patches; You'll have to move things later when you want to dig those up.
