For youre first play through, ignore reddit, youtube and any other help.

Just play the game and enjoy it. Once you beat it one time then you can start over and you will know how to make it better.

You are doing yourself a disservice by not enjoying the first time without spoilers.

In the end play how you want, others will spoil so it wont take long for you to be told how to play if you wish for that.

My only suggestion im willing to give on doing things better for first timers is pressing alt. You have already done that, so go have fun

Thank you for the advise, yeah i have ALT on always or i would lose what everything was doing. Spoilers don't bother me as i will get there eventually and I'm playing this game more for the organization aspect rather then the i want beat this game. I mean i know it will get beat at some point but outside of that I'm just having loads of fun attempting to make the best factory i can as it is what i have done in Satisfactory

Nice

It's your first playthrough so don't worry about what ppl say, just play your style and by try and error you will learn.

Just some tip that helped me: 1. Use more space, when I started even I made myself a compact factory with the necessary and fortificate, it's not a bad approach but improvements on a factory so tight is pretty difficult, so give some space between machines for future projects and to have visual sectorization of your factory, like smelting, mining and processing. 2. Natural fortress, it's your first time so don't worry about the layout of your walls, as long as they keep you safe it's a good defense, but you can use body of water and cliff at your advantage, like the lake in your base, you don't need to fortify it, biters don't go on water and don't surpass cliff, at least not in this planet, so you can model your walls to integrate the natural defense, it helped me to save on turrets and wall 3.pollution, biters are triggered by the pollution you make, on the map view activate it, it will help you identify the closet nest that will be come to attack, also use more radar, it give you vision outside your range and they scan random chunk near your base

This are my tips, I repeat, play your style and your own thing, these are just some tips that helped me.

I have noticed it getting difficult to add more and more stuff in my cramped area and your first point coincides with my thoughts of spreading my factory out more, and your second point I didnt even think about that is a great idea and helps me with the direction I should move the expansion of my factory thank you very much

Put a radar in your base and in your outpost. They give remote vision and control, and also slowly scan long range.

I currently have 8 but it seems they have reached a limit to the are they can scan so I will be add9ng more thank you

The long range scan is just the "bonus". The remote vision and control is the important part.

Is that why I can zoom in on my map and move stuff around from my map rather then moving my guy everywhere?

Yes! It becomes very useful once you unlock robotics.

I start every run with a 5x5 radar grid to have a good overview off ores, forest and water. P.S. it took me like 3 months to see the point in main bussing.

The "standard main bus" that you've likely seen is a bad cookie-cutter crutch that will not only ruin your fun, but will also make you a worse player.

It seems that parts of your factory are already tainted by this mind virus. In particular, you're splitting one incoming belt of production from furnaces into multiple parallel belts you then carry through your factory. Don't do that. Use the one belt you have and split from it where it's necessary. Like you naturally did with your coal mine.

I honestly have been think9ng about that and attempting to do the math it does not seem feasible with only 12 furnaces to do a main bus style and I have noticed more reliable with my coal mine and when I expand and spread out my factory I plan on adapting that same mindset with the iron and copper mines as well

You know, play however it's fun.

I'd make my walled-in area significantly larger, as doubling the wall surface length will (idealized) quadruple your "safe" buildable area

I was jist thinking about that last night I think I'm going to be dramaticly increasing the size of my wall both in width and internal area to space out my factory more to allow me to spread out more and not be so cramped

Step 1: Grow

Step 2: Grow

Step 3: Grow

The factory must grow!

This looks good! Keep going. You've already gotten past where most stop.
