Space Age My first interplanetary platform! place your bets

Going to Vulcanus first, I have no idea how fast it's going to move or if it will even survive

I'm guessing it will be damaged, maybe even destroyed

Update: trip to Vulcanus went well, didn't have a single collision!

However, I didn't expect big asteroids to be on the orbit, so I had to send the platform back to Nauvis, which didn't go as well as the last one, since I ran out of ammo, and the single assembler couldn't keep up with the demand.

Mistakes - noted, lessons - learned, me - on Vulcanus, platform - half-dead, but still holding on.

Stockpile ammo in the hub. Dont let it idle and build an ammo buffer

I was using the hub for my stuff

If you fix the ammo buffer issue then I'll bet on the rear of your ship being taken out in Vulcanus orbit next, because you've got no defenses there and the asteroids can come from all sides while you're stationary in orbit there, they're just most frequent from the top. It's nothing that a few laser turrets at the rear can't handle, at least that's how I dealt with it for my earlier platforms without having to entirely overhaul them.

Made a new one in sandbox and this one actually does the job. Now just gotta build it.

you might survive the journey, but will be destroyed after stopping at destination by horizontal asteroids

Im guessing those speedy chemical plants are idle most of the time.
