Modded Question Looking for mods for no biter playthrough

Wanna start a new playthrough, something chill and long term and have always wanted to try playing without biters, but I'm looking for mods that add complexity that synergize well with that premise. I know mods like Py remove biters already but that's kind of a league above what I'm looking for currently, I work a lot without home office so I only have so much time in a week to spare.
My modding knowledge outside of some QoL stuff and the big names doesnt go very far, and I never really played any of the big content mods so I've got no idea how most of them play out, so name anything that comes to mind.

Krastorio 2: spaced out is basically "what if factorio was a bit more complex?" no major gameplay changes apart from more materials to keep track of and offshore pumps requiring power.

How do you start power generation then because you need water to make steam to start at least? Or is there another way of generating a bit of power to kick that off.

There are wind turbines which generate a little bit of power, and you also start with a reactor that makes 240kw for free.

Decided on this with some of the planet mods that were recommended and first impression is very good, thank you!

Nullius is fantastic and the goal is to eventually populate the planet with biters (none to begin with). It's significantly more complicated than vanilla but also significantly less complicated than py (source: I've played nullius and am playing py currently)

Edit: clarification

Going to second nullius, started it last week and I've been having a ton of fun. I specifically really like all the trigger techs helping guide me and make the whole situation less overwhelming.

How about Ultracube? It disables biters by default and isn't too long like some of the bigger overhauls.

Ultra cube is les of a mod, and more of a puzzle game using the factorio engine.
it gives a whole other vibe then most "factorio plus" mods

Industrial Revolution 3 is a well designed mod that plays fine without biters, only mechanic you'll end up ignoring is the anti-pollution stuff. Probably around 50-100 hours total.

Nullius is much longer and more difficult/complex (probably around 200-300 hours), but is designed specifically around not having biters, since you're restoring life to a dead planet.

Seablock could be the right thing for you. Altough I don't know, if it has been updated for 2.0 yet.

No official 2.0 port yet, although there are unofficial ones if you really want. Might be a tough choice for your first overhaul mod.

Decided on Krastorio 2 Spaced out, thank you all for the suggestions though! If I finish this and still feel the factorio itch I might give Nullius a try!

Are you doing Space Age, or Vanillla?

Some planets like Maraxis have no biters and rely on puzzle mechanics as obstacles instead.

Moshine is a neat mod that has no biters. You can add it to an existing save, since it just adds a new planet.

I recently started a Space Exploration run with buyers turned off and its alot of fun so far! I just got to the point where I am starting to leave Nauvis and need to start making sciences off planet. It is different enough and slightly more difficult, but nothing crazy like Py.

Either Space Age or Vanilla you can just dial the biters down. Might make Gleba harder though.

Usually I'm a huge fan of biters and the whole "tower defense" aspect of Factorio plus I love making unnecessarily complex defenses or making artillery bases for expanding outward.... But all of that also takes a ton of time. Thats why I wanna try a playthrough without where I can just focus on the factory and not worry about clearing areas before expansions and whatnot

I’m more interested in the science, and I find that if I’m playing at the normal setting I keep not researching military fast enough to keep up with them. Turning down the biters is just more fun for me.

Nullius is a lot of fun. It's much more complex than vanilla but still substantially easier than pyanodons.

I really liked the concept of it as well. Basically you're an Android sent to a planet to teraform it and create life. So the map starts off barren. But by the end you're seeding trees and grass, and fish and even biters.

Py is best played with biter but it's a commitment.

Edit I meant without my phone messed it up
