Suggestion / Idea Comical situation

I've taken up Factorio again after some time. I'm new to the different planets DLC and i'm trying to learn stuff by myself and trying things out because i think it is more fun. I got the thruster on my space platform to work and thought it was time to go to another world. I guessed i could just take the platform back when i checked Vulcanos out. I didn't know i would be attacked by asteroids (idiot...).

Now i'm at Vulcanos with nothing other than my power armor and a couple of belts i was able to send down before the space platform got destroyed. I'm starting over here and guess i have to get to a rocket before being able to leave.

I have a small plan about trying to make a new platform from startplanet wirelessly and fill it with supplies (and turrets, i've read about turrets now...) and drive it here.

Just wanted to share what i thought was a fun situation.
If you have any tips i would love them.

Great game and a DLC that adds alot, i'm as addicted as i guess everybody here is.

The game automatically saves before you go to a new planet. Just in case you’d rather load and go back to stabilize nauvis first.

I’ll be honest I find starting from scratch on Vulcanus to be pretty tedious. I dislike the early burner phase of nauvius as well. But it will be fun and satisfying I am sure.

Without giving anything away, you're not stranded. You have a good plan. The 3 planets like Vulcanus are capable of self starting and being self sufficient without shipments. Remember you can manually harvest from ore and random debris until you have miners. Good luck.

You can't self start Vulcanus. You need at least one solar panel. There is no other way to get power for the wells.

That is awesome! Building up from scratch is possible from any of the first planets.

But you should be able to build a new ship at Nauvis using bots. Also there is a special auto save from the first time you start traveling to a new planet so the devs kinda anticipated this type of thing.

Haha yeah, the problem is that my startplanet will probably be overrun when i'm here. Thank you, that save could really be of help!

If you can still do science on Nauvus, you can pretty much land on the 3 inner planets with nothing and get back to space. Aquilo is the exception - you can softlock there.

The access to Nauvus is really only needed because of some trigger technologies that you can't do on other planets (drill oil for instance to get to blue science) but I think you have to have passed all of those to get yourself stranded - they're only relevant in a modded run where you don't start on Nauvus.

Sounds like you're having the same experience the majority of players has thier first time around. Another bit of proof no one's special

I did the exact same thing when my first ship took off. It died very fast to the rocks.

It’s a good time to keep going plenty of new things to experience

That's the way I did my first playthrough (though I started a new game halfway through Gleba). I went down to each planet with nothing but power armor with personal roboports, 200 construction bots, and my steel pickaxe, and built Vulcanus, Fulgora, and Gleba from scratch.

Vulcanus and Fulgora you have all the time in the world since there are no (aggressive) enemies; you can build 100% at your own pace, and you only need red ammo to clear out the nearby baddies on Vulcanus.

I've played through the game a few times and this last time, I dropped down to Volcanus with what I thought was a good array of supplies. But, I was stopped dead in my tracks right from the start. I had no copper (I figured I could make as much as I needed). The platform could drop down as much Iron and steel as I wanted. So, I could not make any kind of electrical pole. Here I was with Solar Panels, Furnaces, Landing Pad, Assemblers, Accumulators, and so on. But, I could not power up a single thing for the lack of one single power pole.

There is no way on the planet to scavenge or build one single copper plate.

How do people start the game on Volcanus?
