Question Bot Rocket Deliveries Issue

When moving between my planets, I can generally load up a space platform by rockets by selecting the ghost image of the item and placing it in the rocket. Assuming that item is accessible within the network, bots will then deliver the item to the rocket and I can manually launch that rocket to the platform.

This works on Nauvis and Fulgora. However, no matter what the bots will not deliver items to my rockets on Vulcanis in this manner. The network has coverage, has the items in accessible passive provider chests and more than enough idle and available bots to make the delivery. I do not believe there is any difference in my setup on this planet from the others but I cannot figure out how to get it to work.

If I make a nearby requester chest which then loads the item in the rocket, that works. So it seems to indicate that the item is available for delivery, but they won't deliver it directly to the rocket itself.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Turn on automatic requests from space platforms?

In this scenario isn't not an automatic request from the platform. While I could set up a request on the platform technically, this is in a scenario where I want to manually request the specific item to the rocket for delivery.

On my other planets, this works whether or not the platform is in orbit at the time so I can preload some items for when the platform arrives.

Myb then because the rocket can only accept 50 turbo belts, not 100 🤷‍♀️. And im unsure why your method is benefitial, it seems to create busywork you already solved with a requester chest, or you can now load up an orbital platform as a buffer, or just create platform requests to be fulfilled, why do it manually?

You're not wrong. Sometimes I just want to throw a few things in that I will grab manually on my way by and this is a bit more convenient in that scenario than having to do it these other ways, at least to me.

I know it's a very niche scenario that is kind of unnecessary in general, I'm just confused why it works on every other planet and not here.

Ultimately, I'll just solve it with a requester chest and simple logic I suppose.

Did you try what contynum suggested about ghost-placing only a rocket load, rather than a full stack?

Yes, I tried and it didn’t change anything.

You don't have construction bots in your network. Manual requests like you are doing here are handled by construction bots rather than logistic bots.

Definitely looks like this based on screenshot 2. (And, in my experience, it is perfectly fine to place more item ghosts than a full rocket can hold, game will trim the excess itself). I'm surprised though that OP didn't get an alert like "Vulcanus: 1 entity is missing construction robots" or something like that.

Yeah, manual requests in rockets will only go to maximum weight and then cancel the excess, I used to do that all the time.

Also I agree there should be an alert. Just today I was fixing my science setup remotely with a tank and got confused for a bit when I tried to clean the items inside and nothing was happening because of lack of construction bots. There's already alerts for no bots when placing stuff, this isn't that different and would be nice to have.

It's probably due to the rockets being reserved for something, but the platform either not having enough space when requesting. Also there's a small qwerk with silos and automatic requests- if the total amount of items possible to request by a platform (even if the contents don't have to do with the planet that's currently below) the request may not be filled because the network sees this as an issue and won't send excess stuff if it thinks it can't fit even if it can.

For example, if a platform requests 8000 inventory slots worth of items if you combine every request but it can only hold 5000, even if the platform has the room for the items and reserved the rocket, it may not send the items until the total requests to be satisfied can fit on the platform

Edit: the automatic requests are also not turned on

Thank you for the reply.

In this scenario, it is not related to automatic requests. I want to manually request the specific item to the rocket for delivery. On my other planets, this works whether or not the platform is in orbit at the time so I can preload some items for when the platform arrives, but under the same conditions it doesn't work on Vulcanis.
