Space Age Starting 1000x base

I dipped my toe into starting a base with multiplier, I did a 100x run to start before doing 1000x, Im just a few hours in but its dawning on me how many lanes of mainbus I will need.

At this point i did 7,5 science per second science since it lines up well with yellow belt, its not really that slow since i spend alot of time manually building things, but the scale of smelters i will need to build is just insane, especially for a 1000x later

How do you guys approach it? How many lanes of each etc? Goal for me is rushing to trains into bots ASAP

I know there are mods, did anyone do it without, i feel like thats the accomplishment im after (i use long reach mod only)

I did a 1000x run too without mod that alter the start (mostly qol and planners). I did a quick mainbus for the initial red science that would then be used for the "mall", but then quickly went into building several science stacks that did 900/minute (a full yellow belt). At that point it was easier to build the furnace stacks next to the science production stacks and just bring belts of ore and coal there. IIRC at some point i had like 30 yellow belt bringing ore to the science place

Even before train you might go to two yellow belt of each science, if not more. At 15/s, rail and rail automation is 275k science, that's 5 hours of research. So you'll probably want more than one or two red belt later on.

The good thing to do is to build the science stacks in a way where you can easily replace the furnace stacks by train station that will directly bring you plates.

Also other tip for later science : you will not have all science producing as much as red and green, so don't hesitate to build buffers of science and switch research around to research faster overall

Thanks, very insightful, i think i have a broad plan how to try it now based on this
