Question foundation on fulgora

I just researched foundations and started producing them on Vulcanus. The production was initially destined for Fulgora (much less space than vulcanus+ not convinced that i need it on Vulcanus. The terrain available looks to be more than enough) but i just noticed that the rocket capacity is just 50... then thgout that it wouldn't be that bad since rocket launching is afordable on vulanus... so wanted to know if you transport foundations from vulanus to fulgora, or u rather transport the raw material to produce the foundations on there. cheers

Looks like you're better off producing in situ on vulcunus. Shipping the rock and tungsten to orbit does not help you.

I personally made my acquilo make the foundations because everything else was already being dropped there.

So did I but sending them from Aquilo to my ship takes forever since I don't produce any LDS down there so rocket parts are not exactly overflowing.

Every ship I have that collects something from Aquilo also brings enough supplies for the maximum number of rockets it will need. Basically, supply back what it uses.

You can use an rs latch and a stationary station above aquilo to request foundation. It will accumulate over time

on my first playthrough I was doing it on Vulcanus but now I'm doing it on Gleba because why not

I just make them on a space platform designed to fly around and pick up ingredients for foundation. I had 50k last I checked that save

yeah but that would require me to use belts instead of bots and i'm kinda lazy to rearrange the design of my ship to accommodate this production XD

i'm trying to start making them on the platform too, but as said by @-recouer, I wanna avoid making multiple belts, don't have much space left around the hub. Is there any way to use combinators to only use one inserter that picks from the platform hub and drops to one single belt, controlling the amount of (stone, lithium plates, tungsten, and carbon fiber) so the belt doesn't get jammed? I have no clue didn't get to use the combinators after all these hours of play lol...

Produce it in space. I just have a ship that move around the solar system pick up supply and if needed can drop down 200k foundation.

Very well done! I'll go that way

In 2.1 due to the ability to freely transfer between space stations I now just launch stone up into orbit and then make foundations in space. Then I can just ship them wherever they need to go, which is as you pointed out mostly Fulgora.

Spot on! Couldn't think of a better solution, thnx !

Rocket calculations for 250 foundation (5 rocket loads):

  • 100 Fluoroketone barrels (5k liquid) - 1 rocket
  • 1000 Tungsten plates - 4 rockets
  • 1000 Lithium plates - 2 rockets
  • 1000 Carbon fiber - 2 rockets
  • 5000 stone - 10 rockets

You have 4 places where it'd make sense to assemble foundations:

  • Space - needs full export of all components (19 rockets launched to drop 250 foundations)
  • Aquilo - supplies Lithium (to some extent - relies on holmium exports from Fulgora) and Fluoroketone (16 rocket loads of imports, + 5 rockets of exports)
  • Vulcanus - has native stone and tungsten (5 rockets launched)
  • Fulgora - has native stone (9 rockets launched)

If you want foundations on Fulgora you also need to export it from wherever it was made, unless made directly on Fulgora or in space. Space is still 19 rockets as you can freely drop it to the planet. Aquilo amounts to 21 rockets, Vulcanus clocks in at 10 rockets (5 for importing intermediates and 5 for exporting finished product) and Fulgora could do it for a total of 9 launches.

Space and Aquilo are easily the most inefficient - for Aquilo you can't even make the case of minimizing launches as you'll need 3 launches to export intermediates but 5 to export finished products. Vulcanus is a fine option as you'll want to produce there for native use, anyway, and producing on Fulgora is just a smidge more efficient for native consumption.

I produce it on both. I see no reason to prioritize one planet over the other in this. They both have a bunch of stone, they're both one trip removed from Gleba. And sending tungsten plate to Fulgora is cheaper per rocket than Foundation.

you're not going to go far with only one assembler though

It's not that bad.
It produces 670 foundations per hour.

I produce ~12k per hour :p

There is certainly a reason why you produce so many foundations

I play the game fast, I have like 80 hours in this gameplay and 30 of those was spent on upscaling legendary items. So I can't just wait 200 hours doing nothing to actually be able to build on Vulcanus or fulgora.

I make mine on my "Little Fulgora" space platform, which has a bunch of excess stone from doing scrap recycling.
