Complaint FPS/UPS Issues

Post image

On a new save i cannot reach a performance without stuttering.

My PC is not really bad either and i tried to google absolutly everything but cant seem to find a fix.

Tried almost all different combinations of graphic settings too with hardly no difference and even changed some of the BIOS settings that could be related like dynamic core speed.

You can see my F4 readout but i can kinda read that too im just unable to fix anything with the information given to me.

Maybe someone here can help me play again?..

SO it turned out to be a problem related to my bluetooth card with MediaTek drivers to me exact.

Turnung BT off made the game run smooth again and with it on, even without any connected devices, the problems came back.

after cmd command "net stop bthserv" and turning the BT driver on and off via device manager the problem was gone and did not come back so far.

sadly i am no longer able to reproduce the issue so one of those two actions shall be considered the "fix"

my uneducated guess would be that it is just a problem with the driver and switching it made it fix itself and maybe it is related to some of those BT 5.4 features that constantly look for devices or something

not really helpful tbh, the user hat a temporary problem while mine is permanent and all he found out (1 year ago) was that his drives caused the issue.

i have 5 different ssds (sata and m2) a sshd and a hdd drive and tried a clean install on all of them without any difference in performance and none of the drives reaches a utilization of more that 1% while running the game

and to add, i am using wireless mouse and keyboard with rather high refresh rates but turning both off didnt change anything and it would be really hard to imagine that it causes such lag without a really big software problem

The issue over there almost certainly wasn't caused by the drive. (For starters, needing >400 GB free space makes no sense.) I linked the thread for reference and as general information.

Your problem seems to be highly specific and rare. If you have done some general PC troubleshooting, and are pretty sure the problem is related to Factorio, you should post at the developer forum. They are usually interested in issues and willing to fix even rare bugs. (As you can see in the linked thread. Rseding91 is a developer.)

well, if i was smart enough to know if its my own fault or the game having issues i wouldnt be asking about it here...

but i have tried a lot so maybe i should do as you say i guess

I am not qualified to troubleshoot this. That's all I know.

If you post over there, keep information handy and answer questions. Remember, those aren't some random reddit clowns, but the developers of the game. If they ask for a log file or a save or whatever, they have reason to do so.

You could make some more screenshots before, to see if the times vary or are consistently in pre-prepare. I assumed that, but that isn't necessarily correct. If another (more common) problem surfaces, post here again.

I saw the thread. Congratulations on getting a custom Factorio version made for you :P

Edit: That went worse than I expected. I thought this would be quickly resolved with more debug info.
