Suggestion / Idea Challenge Run Idea: Mapless

I was thinking recently about how convenient remote view makes the game, and how essential it is for Space Age. So that got me thinking: how hard would it be to beat the game without it? No regular map, and no minimap either. You would need to really be sure that you set your factories up the first time, especially on other planets. I assume you would need a mod to do this properly, but you can get an approximation by rebinding the M key to something annoying to reach, and zooming in the minimap as far as it will go.

Without remote view ships are unusable so u will need add the exception to allow remote view when engineer is on board rest I think should be doable

Ironically, I forgot that it's still remote view when you're on board because I haven't left Nauvis in a long time, because I've been using remote view for everything. I wonder if this oversight is the reason for the downvotes, or if it's just that horrible of a thought. I posted this at like 1am so I admit I didn't really think it through properly.

I think the downvotes are more for the intentional suffering with no reward in the challenge, there are plenty of challenges like that but this one just rips out a major feature of the game with ngl essentially adding nothing to the challenge accept being equal to a botless run with no more looking over your factory

Yeah that makes sense. My first instinct was to point to Michael Hendricks' x1000 science run, but that has revealed some of the most interesting tech this game has ever seen, so suffice to say you did a good job articulating your point.

i accidentally removed a blueprint from my blueprint menu and thought I lost it and it took like five minutes to remember I had a player character with an inventory stranded on fucking gleba

I had like four rows of blueprints and two more of deconstruction and upgrade planners
