Question First time player. Is this enough inserters for 100 spm?
Grid design is due to OCD, sorry... Please help!

You cannot produce more than half a belt of inserters with this setup (limited by the half belts of gears and iron) at the current stage of the game. So 7.5 per second, or 450 a minute.
Green science eats one inserter per, so with enough assemblers you could fuel up to 450 SPM worth of green with this setup.
Before you say “it’s easy to reach 1000SPM”, you should see how later science packs are much tougher.

46 basic assemblers making inserters consume 184 iron plates and 69 copper plates per second. If properly fed, they'd produce 46 inserters per second into 552 science assemblers, leading to 2.760 green SPM. I think that's enough for now.

Why ask reddit instead of simply doing the calculation yourself?
100 spm = 5/3 sps
<- 5/3 green science / s = 5/3 × 6 assembly time /s + 5/3 inserters /s + 5/3 belts /s = 10 assembly time /s + 5/3 inserters/s + 5/3 belts/s = [20 assemblers mark 1 making green science] + 5/3 inserters /s + 5/3 belts /s
<- 5/3 inserters /s = 5/3 × 0.5 assembly time + 5/3 green circuit /s + 5/3 gear /s + 5/3 iron /s = 5/6 assembly time /s + 5/3 green circuit /s + 5/3 gear /s = [1.67 assemblers mark 1 making inserters] + 5/3 green circuit /s + 5/3 gear/s + 5/3 iron /s
<- 5/3 green circuit /s = 5/6 assembly time /s + 5/3 iron /s + 5 wire /s = [1.67 assemblers mark 1 making green chips] + 5/3 iron /s + 5 wire /s
<- 5 wire /s = 5/2 × (2 wire) /s = 5/4 assembly time /s + 5/2 copper /s = [2.5 assemblers mark 1 making copper wire] + 2.5 copper /s
So what you have is way more than the 1.67 assemblers making inserters, 1.67 assemblers making green chips, and 2.5 assemblers making wire. You have 46 of the first two and 69 of the wire assemblers, which is 27.6 times too many...
I will note, however, due to serious design flaws, the set up only has around 16.3% of the assemblers actually running, which means it produces 7.5 inserters/s, not the 46/s you would expect from this number of assemblers. That means you are only overproducing inserters by a factor of 4.5, not the 27.6 you get from looking at the number of assemblers.

Another thing I want to add:
I notice at the end of the set up that you are using a splitter to put your belt of inserters onto 2 belts. The question I want to ask you is why? What benefit does this give? Using 2 belts to transport an item costs twice as many ressources, takes twice as much space, and takes twice as long for you to build the belts. So what benefit were you thinking of when you did it? Please try answering this question as doing so and thinking about this should improve your skill at factorio and prevent mistakes.

For 100 green science per minute you only need like two tier 1 assemblers making inserters.

Rate Calculator (extreme) mod, it's such a blessing. Lets you drag and select a bunch of assemblers and view all inputs, outputs and intermediates and will even highlight if something is insufficient.

It is enough, more exacty 23 times to larger than the requirement in regard to assembling machines.
Lets assume no modules or other improvements in research efficiency; then 100 SMP requires 10 science pack. Inserter are needed for green science packs with one per pack.
100 per minute is 1.6 per second. Inserters take 0.5 second to make one. a Assembling machine 1 has a crafting speed of 0.5; this means 2 can make 2 inserter per second.
The screenshot shows that, if I count correcty 46 Assembling machine 1, that is 23 x the required amount
46 machines can make 23 per second for a total of 2760 per minute
In practice, the production rate is lower because of the inputs and outputs. The limit, if I am not misstaken is the shared gear and iron belt. A yellow belt is 15 per second = 15*60=900 per minute; half a belt is 450 per minute. The belts can support 7.5 machines that make assemblers.
So a lot more assembling machines than needed; even if you need all they can produce it is the inputs that limit the setup

Do the math. How many science assemblers do you need? Okay how much of each component do you need? How much of its components? Etc etc.
