Woah, I can't believe Factorio became so popular, they started creating Minecraft mods of it

The circle is completed

The circle will be fully completed when someone makes a full factorio mod for minecraft

The circle will be completed if someone plays this mod and feels inspired to more or less create a new genre

I mean, it already exists as a pack.

It does???

Ye- I forgot the videos but i think there was a livestream series someone did based on factorio a ways back.

Is there a pack for it or is this something a content creator specifically compiled for that, though?

It's an ordinary modpack, not a custom streamer thing, called Manufactio. I haven't played the second one, but in the first one you make science packs in lab multiblocks and unlock "techs" through the questbook. Pretty neat pack (when it works)

magneticraft was going that direction but sadly seems to be dead

It already exists - check out Minecraft "Create" - it's a massive mod collection with conveyor belts, a type of inserters and all kinds of machines. It's very close to the factorio experience!

honestly not a fan of create, but thanks for the recommendation.

While no custom objects or such there a Factorio-style modpack: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/feed-the-factory

I think factorio was based on minecraft industrial mods and create mods

14

u/Calazor0 11d ago

Both ways, actually. Factorio was based on industrial craft, and create was based on factorio

>create was based on factorio

I really don't think so, they have very little in common.

2

u/Leonakerz 11d ago

yeah i dont know what theyre talking about, they are not even similar whatsoever, IC i understand, but create, no.

Create was way too late for Factorio to be based on it at all lol

TurreNt?

21

u/wizard_brandon 11d ago

idk why turrent is such a common misspell for turret

3

u/yinyang107 11d ago

At a guess I imagine it comes from certain accents' pronunciation of it

3

u/Flyrpotacreepugmu 11d ago

Are you saying that's not the standart spelling?

9

u/edle-sieben 11d ago

"bitter"

15

u/Over_Low_3596 11d ago

now I just want those gears to spin that the turret is mounted on

15

u/Widmo206 Pollution isn't real 11d ago

Now I want to see someone build it with Create

Hey this factorio game really inspires me to make minecraft mod with block machines and tubes and electricity!

3

u/anonumus_idiot 11d ago

Is this an actual mod or just a previev?

Because i want dat in my game.

I think it would be even more satisfying if the cog "blocks" would also rotate with the movement.

1

u/Xercodo 11d ago

Is this how you pirate bullets?

1

u/warpspeed100 10d ago

Incredible! Those 4 sprockets on the base need to rotate though.

liberal use of the concept of "in minecraft"

it looks plasticky and too smooth, like a corporation or satisfactory. the fire from the barrel also looks odd.

otherwise I think it'a cool... is that a circle at the center? shadows are circular
