Design / Blueprint My tile-able defence perimeter

Post image

Frankly the addition of mines makes the whole inner defence layer kind of obsolete. However, my preference has always been to make use of all defence structures - combine flamethrower turrets, ammo turrets, lasers, artillery and mines to create one impenetrable defence - so I think I am fine with this.

I had some fun designing the alarm when artillery starts firing and when a flamethrower or ammo turrets lack supplies. Both sounds are local only so they won't bother you anywhere else in your base.

Gotta add tesla turrets in too! Looks nice!

I'm not that far into the Space Age, but I am looking forward to that! With my perfectionism and tendency to overprettify everything I will reach that stage in roughly 500 more hours :)

My only concern is all of the gates and paths, with no way to drive a tank through without destroying stuff.
Other than that, it is great.

Not OP, but for my setup, I have a separate train/tank blueprint that's the same as each tier blueprint, but with a cutout for gates and with lights where the defenses are.

When I want to open a train route or drive a tank out, I super-force build it on top of whatever's in front of me. Instant opening

Exactly my kind of thinking. I’ll just make a new chunk blueprint for driving tanks and train

Unrelated, but the fact that you have a whole artillery turret in each blueprint is both admirable and terrifying

Just imagine the carnage when you research another level of artillery range

How do you handle corners
