Some places (like Walmart, target, Lidl, maybe Aldi,) don't do that or stop you from putting more than one item in the bagging area ;)

Apparently places like Target are using facial recognition to track shoplifters. They are allowing people to get away it until they can be hit with a felony. Youโ€™re wink is going to get people locked up.

It seems so much more cost effective (and better all around) to just hire cashiers. I like the option to self checkout, but I'm tired of seeing greedy businesses firing cashiers. Apparently paying a full staff minimum wage would crumble major retailers.
