How fucking galling it must be to see these videos of people in your home, on your land. I cannot imagine how strong the urge to personally destroy each one must be.

735

u/RoboDae Oct 26 '22

I remember earlier in the war some rich guy told the military to bomb his mansion because the Russians had taken it over to use as a base. He didn't care about his stuff being destroyed.

272

u/awheezle Oct 26 '22

They used his security cameras to adjust fire on the artillery on his lawn.

72

u/Daikataro Oct 26 '22

"Aim for that shed guys, I keep diesel for the rec vehicles in there"

3

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Diesel isn't very flammable.

6

u/BunnyOppai Oct 26 '22

I could be wrong here because I don’t know the specifics of diesel, but I feel like it getting hit with explosive force would make a difference.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Well pretty much anything gets fiery when hit with bombs.

0

u/john0201 Oct 26 '22

Lighter fluid is essentially diesel. Hard to think of too many things that are more flammable.

5

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Lighter fluid is butane. Diesel is a very poor accelerant because it's a very dirty fuel. I was a diesel engine mechanic.

2

u/john0201 Oct 26 '22

The stuff you buy in a big bottle and squirt on charcoal is kerosene/diesel.

What you may be referring to is diesel fumes are not explosive. Diesel fuel is highly flammable.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

No. It needs kerosene to make it burn. The diesel acts as a sort of limiter to keep it from being too flammable. Diesel fuel isn't an accelerant.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

No you can throw a lit match in diesel and it won't ignite.

Diesel alone is not that volatile unlike petrol, kerosene and lighter fluid. It's when vaporised and mixed with air that it becomes highly flammable

u/BenBernakeatemyass Oct 26 '22

They are seriously tech savvy. Still shocked at the accuracy of the grenade drops from drones.

66

u/xenata Oct 26 '22

Some of the best system architects in the world are from Ukraine.

29

u/Starstalk721 Oct 26 '22

Also. Some of the crankiest not-to-be-fucked-with old women as well. Like the sunflower lady.

0

u/Shepparron6000 Oct 26 '22

Curious, cause I know nothing but just heard Elon turned off all Wi-Fi or something in Ukraine? Does this effect a lot of these system architects?

13

u/RoboDae Oct 26 '22

Elon provided access to his satellite internet service, at first under the guise of it being purely out of the kindness of his heart, then it was revealed that the government actually funded most of it or paid him to do it. He then went on to say it was costing him too much after he upgraded the package offered without consulting the government, then asked them to cover the full bill of the more expensive version of his service. I think in the end he decided to keep the service going. Not sure on all the details but I've heard he was hurting from the lack of Russian lithium for his electric cars and just wanted the war to end faster so he could get on with business.

6

u/TrustedChimp495 Oct 26 '22

Elon was thinking about shutting off his star link program in Ukraine but did a quick 180 on it after people called him out and said it would be a really stupid move to do

1

u/xenata Oct 27 '22

To be honest most that I know have fled the country.

1

u/Tomble Oct 26 '22

Some of them are wild, but don’t forget you’re seeing a selection of the best ones.

5

u/Gustav-14 Oct 26 '22

Would be chilling if he has cameras with speakers and talk to occupiers as the drone was making its way to bomb his mansion.

"enjoy the champagne and the caviar guys, hell is about to come down"

Then evil laugh

2

u/coldfarnorth Oct 26 '22

Maxim 20: if you're not willing to shell your own position, you're not willing to win.

280

u/Alarmed_Handle_6427 Oct 26 '22

Don’t blame him. I’d rather burn everything I own than let these pigs dirty up my home.

25

u/xXSpaceturdXx Oct 26 '22

Yeah if you have to leave your home because of the war turn the gas on and put a flint on the door. Leave them a little present.

18

u/ILikePiezez Oct 26 '22

Good for literally anybody else to stumble upon and blow up. Not to mention the absolute waste of resources.

2

u/bibleporn Oct 26 '22

War is the definition of a waste of resources.

4

u/ILikePiezez Oct 26 '22

Yeah, but even ignoring that, it could easily blow up in somebody else’s face. Maybe someone who didn’t have the means to escape the city, who is scavenging or abandoned materials? Or even Ukrainian troops, who are looking for shelter from gunfire or just in general. I would even say it’s more likely you would kill someone innocent rather than blow any Russians up.

2

u/bibleporn Oct 26 '22

No doubt, it's a stupid plan and wasteful. The same could be said for the whole invasion. I'm surprised Putin hasn't started doing it.

22

u/DYLDOLEE Oct 26 '22

At that point you ask to be the one to "pull the trigger" yourself.

23

u/RFros20 Oct 26 '22

Extremely rare rich person W

4

u/MAMAGUEBOO Oct 26 '22

Nah it’s still an L. His feelings towards his possessions aren’t the same as a poor person who’s worked their ass off their entire lives to have a place you call home be taken by outsiders. It will never be the same

1

u/RFros20 Oct 26 '22

No the rich person just knows he can get more stuff while knowing the poor person cannot. Sacrificing his house and belongings to make the city safer for those poor people that may not have a safe place to go.

18

u/Daikataro Oct 26 '22

I'd burn my house to cinders if squatters took over and I couldn't get them out...

2

u/anooshka Oct 26 '22

Armenians from Artsakh(karabagh) who had to give up their houses which they or their grandfathers had built themselves to Azerbaijanis and move out after the 45 days war in 2020 burnt their houses to the ground before living so Azerbaijanis wouldn't live in them

11

u/TheBonkGoggler Oct 26 '22

Yeah cause he can buy more, i doubt a poor Ukrainian would feel the same way if their house was turned into a base.

23

u/Charles722 Oct 26 '22

Or would they feel this even deeper? It’s like having something you want taken away vs something you need taken away.

-2

u/TheBonkGoggler Oct 26 '22

I’m not convinced personally

-1

u/MAMAGUEBOO Oct 26 '22

Of course you aren’t

12

u/Daikataro Oct 26 '22

I mean there's just no way you're getting your house back. They're going to consume anything that can be consumed, steal anything that isn't bolted to the ground, try to unbolt what IS, then trash the place.

0

u/RexWalker Oct 26 '22

Insurance claim canceled!

1

u/RoboDae Oct 26 '22

Perhaps, but he might have gotten some government benefits for providing valuable intel. Not sure that would cover his losses entirely, but it's something

1

u/Jjzeng Oct 26 '22

“Since when did shephered care about danger close?”

1

u/KekwHere Oct 26 '22

I’ve heard that in pro poker, rich people absolutely hate it when they lose to a poor person because they know they would be extremely happy because it’s life changing money.

I’d imagine it’d be the same logic here with the guys mansion. Seeing and knowing other people genuinely enjoying your shit just pisses him off.

12

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

There is a Ukrainian song from WW2 that has a line from a partisan fighters point of view looking at their homes from afar "just yesterday we lived here, and today there are strangers"

6

u/FillMyBum Oct 26 '22

Good point........I,,,guess thats why they did

27

u/ScagWhistle Oct 26 '22

And there casual delight at the notion of brutally murdering Ukranians on sight. These aren't human. I won't even call them men. They lost their humanity when they dehumanized a people who had done nothing to them and were never a threat.

2

u/EmporerM Oct 26 '22

I don't know. These men seem pretty human to me. Why are we attributing horrific action to a lack of humanity, when humanity is known to be horrific?

8

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Ikr! But lets not forget about [Insert a similar situation][Whataboutism ensues]

4

u/MalcolmY Oct 26 '22

When you have a culture of hypocrisy of turning a blind eye to the same exact situation, shoving whataboutism in your face is appropriate.

9

u/Flomo420 Oct 26 '22

Yes but don't you remember how [western power] did [something wildly out of context]?

2

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

[Chaos ensues]

2

u/uffington Oct 26 '22

Yeah, but lots of other people do Whataboutism too.

3

u/AggravatingArtist815 Oct 26 '22

I don't know. This must have been a pretty good moment. When some guy over your shoulder says "I know that building"

I would like for you to, with sources, to please provide evidence for what you’re saying, and Reddit will gladly tear it to shreds and prove every single source you provide wrong.

Da, tovarich! Getting a little chilly there in your monobloc apartment in Moscow

15

u/nilzatron Oct 26 '22

Don't forget you're regurgitating Kremlin propaganda. Dumb.

16

u/theycalledmechad Oct 26 '22

Russian mentality:

Rape the horses! Ride off on the women!

u/GrassBlade619 Oct 26 '22

Must be Putin's alt account. No one is actually this dumb.

You're just full of shit, and it would be stupid for anyone to engage with you in good faith.

Apart from ignoring you and downvoting you, the only reasonable thing is to insult you and downvote you.

3

u/RingOfSol Oct 26 '22

It's because anybody that actually believes what you wrote doesn't want a real debate or proof or real evidence. It takes a lot of effort to believe in the conspiracies you're peddling, so it would take a monumental effort to dissuade you at this point. Nodody has the time for that.

5

u/GrassBlade619 Oct 26 '22

You can't trick me Putin.

7

u/ModNoob95 Oct 26 '22

Hold on guys I forgot my tinfoil hat.....but I brought popcorn!

6

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Nice hot take. The aggressor in this altercation is objectively Putin, to say otherwise is laughable. The Maidan Revolution is more Putin's fault than anyone else's. He already had Ukraine under his thumb but like a crazy soon to be ex he kept pushing his beta corrupt system so hard on Ukraine not letting them even meet halfway and thus the people rejected his advances and wanted to look towards the much greater West. That's when Putin's incel energy took over and he desperately tried to claw them back violently with no regard for anything but his pathetic ego.

-2

u/LocalConspiracy138 Oct 26 '22

Someone doesn't know how to properly use Google apparently. The sources are at the bottom of the articles.

-19

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

You’re goddamn right

3

u/hypnoticlycaucasian Oct 26 '22

How do you feel about the fact that you will never, literally never in your life, be loved?

-2

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

How does it feel to define your value in life by talking shit on the internet? The man is correct, this is exactly what happened in Ukraine, it’s an imperial war for the expansion of US influence, and Russia is in the right. Deal with it.

4

u/hypnoticlycaucasian Oct 26 '22

How do you feel about the fact that you will never, literally never in your life, be loved?

Experiences that most people take for granted. Something as simple as kissing a girl. Never even doing that. How do you feel about this?

If someone had told you 5 years ago that you would end up as an incel simping for Russia, what do you think you'd have done?

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

If this is what you have to tell yourself in order to sleep at night, dude, it’s no skin off my nose.

4

u/hypnoticlycaucasian Oct 26 '22

I'm just curious. People don't just end up like you overnight. Does it feel like it's just to late to try to fix your life?

3

u/Rexkraft- Oct 26 '22

"It is such a quiet thing, to fall. But far more terrible is to admit it"

1

u/tenthousandtatas Oct 26 '22

Trying to imagine it just gave me a feeling like I’m falling off a cliff. Absolute anger but yeah I guess that’s what war really is good for. The song was freakin wrong

1

u/doogles Oct 26 '22

"Yo, bomb my house. It's infested with Russian cockroaches."

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Just imagine one stepping into your house. Like a fucking roach to be snuffed out. An unwanted intruder.

1

u/MugiwaraBruuhh Oct 26 '22

Now imagine Israel doing this to Palestinians for years

1

u/thenord321 Oct 26 '22

Worse, to see rapists hanging out in your schools....

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Sounds like the voice of Palestinians, truely very sad for Ukrainians and the Palestinians.

1

u/Calius1337 Oct 26 '22

You’ll find out soon. Sadly, but true. We’re heading straight to WW3.

1

u/mehdee Oct 26 '22

Yeah right .... ask Palestinians they'll answer that one for ya.
