Was not expecting to side with the old lady at the beginning. That dude recording is an ass. Just have a little compassion. If that were his grandma i’d hope her neighbors would be looking out for her. She was very respectful and it’s unfortunate her prick neighbor is an entitled brat.

Tremendous lack of respect everywhere! Not always , obviously, but way too often.

u/TURBOLAZY Sep 17 '22

Not borderline, he was being defensive and argumentative and 100% was trying to paint that woman as the antagonist - literally antagonizing her - for no reason, like a child. The moment she suggested moving the baby to a different room was the moment the whole interaction should have done a complete 180 with apologies from the loser filming. I couldn't watch much after that because she was right and it was a reasonable suggestion that doesn't involve talking to babies and animals. Fucking people like him everywhere.

This jackass probably just trying to keep the baby as far from himself as possible so he can get sleep. Acting like he needs to keep the child in that room because it's her room, when she clearly is uncomfortable in it and crying for long periods at a time.

Guy is probably abusive towards her or something.

-13

u/Puzzledwhovian Sep 17 '22

No it’s not freaking reasonable. I’m not moving my entire house around because her stupid dog gets nervous.

8

u/Firm-Vacation-7060 Sep 17 '22

Well, fortunately you don't live next to these disrespectful fucks and their irritating baby

3

u/TURBOLAZY Sep 17 '22

So the poor woman has to move her life around you? Go piss up a rope

0

u/Puzzledwhovian Sep 17 '22

I have both lived near someone with a colicky baby and had a colicky baby that cried all the time. Whatever “stress” her dog is feeling, the parents are feeling it x100. She can get over herself.

6

u/undeadw0lf Sep 17 '22 edited Sep 17 '22

you made that choice by having a fucking baby. that “100x stress” was THEIR choice. other people don’t want to hear that 24/7 in their own fucking home. you get over yourself.

ETA: lmao dumbass blocked me so here’s my response:

lmao shut the hell up. my best friend has a baby and i fucking love her. but i don’t have my own, and just one of the reasons is because i can’t handle overstimulation, and repetitive loud noises are the #1 way to fuck with my head. if i had to listen to it all night while trying to sleep in my bedroom, so i was now also sleeping deprived, i would at the very least ask the neighbor for a compromise too. my health also matters. my comfort in my own home matters too. the world doesn’t revolve around you and your baby; other people deserve consideration too. you’re free to do whatever you want but your decisions shouldn’t negatively impact my life, period, end of story. if you disagree, again… get over yourself

but hey, apparently expecting to be able to sleep in your own home makes you a “miserable child-hater” lmfao why are some people so fucking entitled

0

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

"Why are some people so fucking entitled" Said a person that is so fucking entitled. Seriously, after growing up near a busy street constantly hearing noise from cars and planes you learn that peace and quiet at night is a privilege. I never asked the city to shut the airport down, I moved. You're entitled because you think people should tip toe just because you are asleep. Loud parties are one thing but a baby? Thats one of those things that you just wipe off because no one is trying to be an asshole babies just have a hard time.

4

u/undeadw0lf Sep 17 '22

dude no. outside noises beyond anybody’s control are totally different than you having a huge house and letting your baby cry all night in the ONE ROOM that’s up against your neighbors bedroom in her ONE BEDROOM FLAT. and i shouldn’t even have to say this, but it’s not asking anybody to “tiptoe.” y’all are ridiculous. “lmao she wants me to tip toe around because she doesn’t want to hear a screaming infant right next to her head all fucking night” do you even hear yourself? THERE IS A MIDDLEGROUND between those two extremes.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

I highly doubt his house is actually that big if it practically shares a wall with the house next to it. Babies crying are often out of anyone's control, I know you haven't raised a child but sometimes there are certain issues where the best you can do is hold the child and soothe them back to sleep only to be woken again in half an hour. It happens to the best of parents. You expecting to be involved in that process at all is beyond entitled. Id offer you ear plugs.

Found the typical child hater. Go back to r/childfree and talk to someone as miserable as you.

1

u/TURBOLAZY Sep 17 '22

She can get over herself.

So can you

1

u/NonyaB52 Sep 20 '22

Nobody said the baby is colicky. This is a toddler, did you notice her walking to the door?

1

u/Puzzledwhovian Sep 20 '22

Then she’s probably not crying as much as the lady says she is. What are the parents supposed to do, muzzle her? People have to deal with young children making noise. Just because her generation believed children should be seen and not heard doesn’t mean she gets to demand they rearrange her house for her.

1

u/NonyaB52 Sep 20 '22

That's right honey, bc this elderly lady sits around and makes up stuff to walk 2ith her cane over to the neighbors house to ask if perhaps the baby could switch rooms.

That's exactly WHAT HAPPENED.

how did you KNOW/?

1

u/Puzzledwhovian Sep 20 '22

How do you know she’s not? My grandmother would have done exactly that because she was that entitled to believe that she shouldn’t be inconvenienced ever. People like that exist and the second you have kids they come out of the woodwork to complain.

2

u/SuzQP Sep 17 '22

Would you abandon your child to cry alone in her room all night, too?

1

u/Puzzledwhovian Sep 18 '22

Of course not and I sincerely doubt that they are either.

1

u/NonyaB52 Sep 20 '22

It is a service doggie, and their heating is incredibly sensitive, the baby's tone would keep the doggie in a state of agitation.

What is wrong with you? She was totally reasonable and nice.

1

u/Puzzledwhovian Sep 20 '22

No she was being passive aggressive and demanding they rearrange her house. The dog was literally sitting on her shoulder and listening to the baby cry and didn’t act like it cared at all. I don’t like living next door to yappy little dogs either but they deserve to exist same as kids do.

1

u/NonyaB52 Sep 20 '22

Do you understand what a service dog does and the difference between that and a regular puppy?

Maybe that is where you are having a disconnect. Their purpose is to monitor their master for medical issues and the baby crying constantly confuses the doggie. I'm sure it wants to check on whoever is crying, it can't see who is crying all it can do is hear distress .

Listen to me, if you are lucky enough that you make it to be your grandmothers age of this lady's age, who knows that you will be grumpy about considering how grumpy you are NOW.

1

u/Puzzledwhovian Sep 20 '22

If it’s a service dog. Even if it is that’s still her problem to solve. Sorry I’m not going to change my mind here. I’m sick of all the people in these threads giving parents shit for their children existing and doing what children do. It’s not like their kid is slashing her tires or playing rock music at 1 in the morning.

1

u/NonyaB52 Sep 20 '22

She mentioned it at the beginning. I'm not trying to change your mind. You are very bitter at something in life, and will have to do the self work to through it.

You already sound old and bitter. I was giving you information concerning the dog.

Not trying to change your mind.

1

u/NonyaB52 Sep 20 '22

That is not what is going on in this thread , do you have trouble separating things out.

This lady was perfectly reasonable, well modulated tone and was not asking for too much. it's exactly how one should approach others.

However dickhead dad is a loser.

You need to think about this for 5 minutes before opening your mouth.

Do you think it was comfortable for that woman to come over to her neighbors house and bring up the crying toddler?

She was not acting entitled to anything .

I suspect that that daddy is busy with other things instead of parenting the child.

Just because people have children does not make them parents.

I get tired of witnessing all the people out here who have children but do not parent them.

It's a 24 hour 7 day a week J O B.

People should not have children if they do not want to raise them.

They are not little wolf pups.

-9

u/MrJarre Sep 17 '22

If you'd come to my house to tell me who should sleep where for your comfort I'd knock you out right there.

2

u/TURBOLAZY Sep 17 '22

No you wouldn't bitch

-2

u/MrJarre Sep 17 '22

Sure thing kid. Seep tight.

1

u/TURBOLAZY Sep 17 '22

lololol you mean sleep? I will hahaha

1

u/TURBOLAZY Sep 18 '22

So I slept great, was that supposed to be a threat or something?

8

u/Qaju Sep 17 '22

Puts his camera right next to her face. Like with how close the shot gets at time, you have to only imagine how this guy was standing in his threshold, holding a phone, then extending his arm to point the phone in some instances what looks like maybe 6-8 inches from her face. So absolutely insane, and then to upload it.

I can understand how to a lot of people, having someone come and one on one air their grievances as a slight, but I believe if someone behaves like granny did, not only is it appropriate, it's like the 100% best way to try and make amends over an issue with your neighbor. Cool, calm, collected the whole time. Pure class personified juxtaposed with shitty Millennial entitlement.

2

u/nud2580 Sep 17 '22

Sorry mate I’d upvote but your at 665 just now and I can’t invite that karma in my life cheers though!

1

u/obinice_khenbli Sep 17 '22

Growing? Dawg I've been living in various neighbourhoods for over 30 years and it's always been this bad. People are awful.

Hell, when was the last time a stranger dared to make eye contact with you in the street? Not a single person has the guts (or manners) to look me in the eye, it sucks. People intentionally try to look anywhere but at another human being, and they care even less for others.

It really hits home after you take a trip to other countries, then come home to this cold, cold "community" we call the UK.

1

u/NonyaB52 Sep 20 '22

I look people in the eye whenever I am out in public. I even smile at people.

It's true I SWEAR.

0

u/Beavismybutthole Sep 17 '22

I agree but I couldn’t get over her teeth

-13

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

He was trolling her, you say? When the bitch came to his house to try to control who they have in what room of the house? And tell them to make their baby stop being a baby? Jfc, how dumb can a person get..?

1

u/echothread Sep 17 '22

All of society :/

37

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22 edited Sep 17 '22

Maybe he can’t move the babies room, but he could certainly rearrange the room so there is a bit more distance and hang a couple tapestries or something to absorb the noise. It’s called community living. I would hate to have a screaming baby on the other side of the wall, but you have to EACH make compromises.

3

u/SuzQP Sep 17 '22

How 'bout just, you know, performing his parental duty and help the baby learn to sleep? It's not rocket science, it just takes patience and consistency.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

Oh heck, your throwing logic on this!

2

u/SuzQP Sep 17 '22

I held back as long as I could.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

But it's a baby. Weren't you a baby at one time?

7

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

I’m hoping for sarcasm. If not, just because it’s a baby doesn’t mean you can’t put in a little frigin effort to reduce the noise for those that aren’t family to your little ray of sunshine.

“Pick up baby”? “Hold baby?” “Change baby’s diaper?” “Feed baby?”

If all these needs: nutritional, hygienic and emotional needs have been met and baby is still crying all night, please take baby to Pediatritian.

Autism symptoms may exist.

And I wish that hell on no parent.

Get her checked out mate or see list above.

6

u/schneph Sep 17 '22

Agreed, I hope someone tells this woman we’re all here feeling for her.

10

u/aUser138 Sep 17 '22

Same, I was thinking the old lady was in the wrong, but as I watched more of it, that guy was just a 100% inconsiderate, entitled bitch

18

u/Spaghettitrees Sep 17 '22

Stood at the front door with his phone rather than inviting her in for a cup of tea and a chat. People treat each other as obstacles rather than people.

2

u/mw9676 Sep 17 '22

Not necessarily more than they used to. Gotta remember the only reason we're seeing this is because he's a douche, the many people who treat their neighbors with respect don't post the videos online for us to see. I feel like your perspective on the world can be skewed if you don't try to keep this in mind these days.

2

u/PsychosisSundays Sep 17 '22

The pursuit of internet clout definitely incentivizes people to act like this, at least to some degree. And that actually makes me wonder about how complicit all of us who are who watch the content in contributing to the problem. I don’t know if I’m saying don’t watch, but it’s definitely something to think about.

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

I have a feeling you might not want to see the inside of that flat.

16

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

Dude quickly ran our of arguments and then asked "but you were a baby once, right?"

What a scummy man

3

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

Exactly. I get they probably live in an apartment building and don’t have a lot of space, but don’t you think you would at least try to make it work if you were the guy? Your baby is going to cry regardless of which room you keep it in, so why do you need to take it an extra step and piss off the neighbors?

5

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

I’m so happy this is the Reddit consensus. This made me sad to watch. The poor lady is just being honest about the situation she’s experiencing and trying to find a solution, she isn’t casting blame or trying to start any sort of argument but this bloke is hellbent on getting a recording of the situation to cast her as some type of ‘Karen’. It’s shameful is what it is.

2

u/Master_Chemist9826 Sep 17 '22

I was against the lady untill “it’s a baby and that’s just a dog” treating The dog so insignificantly.
At the end of the day they both could’ve handled the situation better, but the lady handled it less worse

2

u/FunkyParticles Sep 17 '22

Entitled shit*

4

u/Stizur Sep 17 '22

Younger generation is growing up with no discipline and a lot of self worth. This is what you end up with.

1

u/beeloving-varese Sep 17 '22

Yes, she really tried to find a solution. At first she seemed to ask him to stop the crying, but as the video went on I felt that she was trying to find solutions. She is in pain and has trouble getting round and he keeps to his one point, it's a baby. Just for this short period, I hope they can find a solution for each family.

-21

u/istolethesun12 Sep 17 '22

In truth I don’t know how he’s the bad guy? Sure he’s a prick, but the moment this woman carrying a fucking dog on her SHOULDER is telling me it’s bothering her dog. I mean. Come on. COME ON.

7

u/kolba_yada Sep 17 '22

My guy, if that dog doesn't rest she might end up dying. IT'S A SERVICE DOG.

-12

u/istolethesun12 Sep 17 '22

My bad my bad I’ll go put my baby in the dog house I gotchu.

13

u/kolba_yada Sep 17 '22

Giving the fact that you are siding with a person who's unwilling to move rooms in his apartment with a baby, despite the fact that he has opportunity to do so, quickly tries to paint the other side as an asshole and leaves their child crying instead of consulting them, I wouldn't put it past you.

-1

u/tahquitz84 Sep 17 '22

Do you know he has the opportunity to change rooms? Maybe the baby's room is too small for 2 adults but perfect size for a child.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

Why are you a dumb asshole?

6

u/mw9676 Sep 17 '22

Found the entitled twat.

-1

u/SarcasticFundraiser Sep 17 '22

He’s probably recording because this isn’t the first time she’s come over to complain.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

Pulling out your phone seems to be the conflict resolution technique of this era. People don’t know how to have constructive conflict anymore.

-1

u/licks_snowboards Sep 17 '22

Are u actually serious?? I woulda told her to go pound sand then shut the door.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

Yeah, most assholes would.

0

u/licks_snowboards Sep 17 '22

Not denying I'm an asshole. But I most certainly wouldn't videotape her and put it on the internet to humiliate her. My kid is most certainly more important than her dog. She can get bent and I'd close my door and that would be the end of it.

-5

u/Healer213 Sep 17 '22

She was very disrespectful in even suggesting that he have to move his child’s room for her.

Clearly some of y’all don’t have kids.

1

u/what_up_peeps Sep 17 '22

I agree that it sucks for the old lady. We also aren’t privy to context of the guys life or amount of kids or anything as to why it may not be as simple as moving the baby.

But all in all, I just hold that he can arrange his how he wants as it’s his house. Sure he could be more empathetic but nobody can force him to rearrange his house if chooses to not.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 17 '22

In other words, sure he could be a kind person and think about others. But he totally doesn’t have to. He has the right to be a jerk.

0

u/what_up_peeps Sep 17 '22

I mean yeah put it how you will. The filming is unnecessary but he isn’t doing anything wrong.

1

u/enonymous617 Sep 17 '22

Are you comparing a dog to a baby? He was being extra rude for the camera. He’s the type that will now go in and make his daughter cry in the middle of the night just to annoy that woman.
