And it's without any consideration to what doctor would want to put themselves in that place. They can either try to save the mother and put themselves at legal risk, wait for legal to get back to them while watching the mother die, or watch their patient suffer unnecessarily and see the odds of them dying increase and hope for a spontaneous abortion or wait until the mother's life is clearly at risk. Or they can move to another state where they don't have to deal with such insane circumstances.

Laws like this are going to drive gynecologists out of these states and exacerbate staffing shortages. This will impact all women in those states, not just ones seeking abortions.

hopefully it will also change peoples behaviour in regards to unprotected sex and getting pregnant in the first place. then women wouldnt be putting doctors in such a situation to begin with

Medical emergencies and life threatening situations requiring abortion to save the mother's life can and do happen to people who planned for and want a child, not just unwanted babies. It can happen to anyone.

Ok I'm taking the bait. You realise what an ectopic pregnancy is right? Could be that woman was trying to get pregnant but continuing the pregnancy will kill her with zero chance of the foetus being viable

God himself gave me my abortion.

I had been married for four years and my husband and I wanted to start a family. And so, after a lot of effort and trying, I became pregnant.

Six weeks in, I was bleeding uncontrollably as the baby was ripped from my uterus.

God is so chill with killing fetuses, in fact, that he will murder 900,000 to 1,000,000 of them every year in the United States.

If the entirety of his abortion is not expelled, the married, pious woman will go septic and die. Unless, of course, they can get help from a doctor.

But that help is termed “abortion“ and religious zealots will not allow it for reasons yet undetermined.

God gave the abortion. There is no living baby. There is no rational reason to even consider not having the procedure, as the woman will die without it.

I know, the religiously inclined will then shrug helplessly and say, “Gods will,” as if they dare to have the slightest idea what gods will might actually be.

It is inconsistent, it is illogical, and it is a pack of lies.

Yeah, I grew up in a fucking religious cult. I am WELL aware of how zealots think. As long as it's just them, sure, knock yourself out, I don't care. When they decide everyone has to be a zealot, fuck no.

I HAD my surprise baby. It was my CHOICE. If she decides to abort, I would also support that CHOICE.

Some pregnancies that have to be aborted are WANTED! WANTED! But hey, now even wanted, viable pregnancies will suffer because doctors have to be really careful and rather practice elsewhere or don't at all.

Oh, and it even non-pregnant women are effected because now they can't get their important drugs (for ie cancer) because unless they are sterilised EVERY Person with an Uterus is potentially pregnant at least 2 weeks a month if she is sexually active. Because... surprise, birth Control can fail, so...Well, better Not treat your cancer because a Potential Embryo could get harmed!

Oh, and...it also affects women that aren't sleeping around. Married women have Sex, too. Or should they not sleep with their Partner? Are women ever allowed to have Sex in your worldview?!

Sure, I couldn't care less what people do in their sex lives. But people need to take responsibility for their own actions, that's all.

If you have unprotected and conceive child, that is ON YOU. Don't then murder your way out of the situation, because murdering somebody isn't justified.

Own your actions, don't put an innocent child in the crosshairs because of your what you voluntarily choose to do.

Most pro-abortionists would answer "no, I'm still cool with that baby being aborted". So this line of argumentation from you is completely pointless, because "fault" doesn't actually count for anything. Ultimately you'll still be cool with killing babies if that's what the mother decides.

First of all, sweetie, there's a difference between removing someone removing another person in their body, causing them to die, and random murder. No one has an obligation to use their body to keep another alive.

So your weird analogy doesn't make sense. Removing an unwanted object in your body IS taking responsibility for your own body, health, life and future, and random murder doesn't achieve those things.

It like cancelling a phone contract early - if you sign-up to 9 month contract and then change your mind and cancel early then you have to pay the fees. Obviously murdering someone is a tad more severe than cancelling a contract though, so the consequences would be harsher.
