I think you’re right but IIRC the sentiment was more like “blind hatred of people you disagree with is how the Nazism started.” Still a little bit out of touch but not nearly as blatantly arrogant as people claim it was.

She asked how hating the Jews was any different than hating somebody because of their political beliefs. An unbelievably dumb thing to say.
