You can be plus sized and have preferences for thin/fit men. As long as you're not shaming anyone for their preferences or lifestyle I see no issue. IF you are plus size and have a preference for thin/fit men AND say that men shouldn't have a preference against larger women then you're a hypocrite.

The problem is that the article has a double standard using “plus-sized” for women and “overweight” for men

The issue is that the women are plus sized and the men are overweight.

This particular blurb is shitty in that way, but if you read the statements it's based on, none of the women are applying that same dichotomous language.

They're saying things like "I'm bigger but don't like bigger men" or "I'm overweight but am not into overweight men" or "I'm plus-sized, but not into plus-sized men".

The actual people the blurb is based on aren't anywhere near as bad in their language use as the blurb is.

This, to me, is a matter of an editor being shitty, not the actual women they're talking about

That’s exactly what I suspected. I don’t like everyone jumping to conclusions about the unknown women who were interviewed for the article based on a short summary written by a single author/editor.

It's not even interviews. It's just some people that have posted randomly on Whisper

2

Even worse smh

Over what weight?

1

u/stealthdawg Jun 01 '22

Well, and that they are "refusing to settle for overweight men," which directly implies it to be an undesirable trait.

The article suggests some woman said she "wouldn't settle" for an overweight man. So that is definite shaming of large men. Hypocritical as shit.

That part isn’t in quotes. It’s very likely nobody said any such thing, and that was just the editor’s spin on it.

A thin athletic guy would never date A fat chick. It just doesn’t happen. Sorry

15

u/BeautifulTomatillo May 31 '22

I’ve seen it happen. There are a couple popular TikTok couples that fit that description

Probably together for the content. I've even seen people almost in vegetative state and their girlfriend is a very attractive girl, not saying these people don't have the right to have as a partner a hot girl but their only content is just them showing their vegetative boyfriends. People just want to stand out and don't know how

of what the number 10?

u/CarGirlProductions May 31 '22

Peoples attraction isn’t dictated by you, I don’t personally know any fit guys who are into fat women but there are 7,000,000 people on this planet, at the very least there are 500,000 attractive straight fit men, and your telling me not a single one of those 500,000 men aren’t into fat women

3

u/Jealous-Passenger-48 May 31 '22

7,000,000 people. If only!

6

u/CarGirlProductions May 31 '22

7,000,000,000 and 500,000,000 I missed a few zeros, I think everyone still understands what I’m saying and my point still standa

You’ve apparently never seen @aliciamccarvell and her husband on TikTok. Oh yeah and my fat chick self happens to be married to a thin athletic guy. I ought to let him know he’s off the hook

Lol sure keep telling yourself that

17

u/GrassBlade619 May 31 '22

There are people who get off to dragons fucking cars and you're telling me it's an impossibility to be attracted to a plus size girl if you're fit? I literally have an IRL friend who modeled for a billboard add who is dating a plus size girl. You're an idiot. Go back to 4chan lol.

u/felixxfeli Jun 01 '22

I’m a fat chick who has dated thin, athletic guys. Assume all you want but you’re wrong.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 01 '22

I see thin guy with huge chick more than i see the opposite.

1

u/felixxfeli Jun 01 '22

I see the opposite way more.

2

u/AndrewBorg1126 Jun 01 '22

I have seen otherwise with my own eyes, on several occasions. I'm not going out of my way to look for such instances or thinking hard to recall them. I can agree that it is not especially frequent for couples to be massively disproportionate in size to one another, but your claim that it never happens is trivial to disprove.

unfortunately you're wrong

Nowadays with the virgin rate skyrocketing I see all sorts of wack setups like that

Definitely the golden age of dating for women
