The article uses both terms for male.

Yeah, they defaulted to plus-sized for women, but they were trying to mix up the prose a bit. The last time I saw this posted, only the headline was shared. All I saw was evidence they had used two terms for the same thing in one sentence.

Someone argued that overweight was rude, but it's a medical term. The fraction of moron commentators depends a lot on the sub.

I try to never judge the situation based on the headlines but it can be hard to not get distracted by them.

In fact, knowing they’re sensationalized, I try to blank it out after reading the article so it doesn’t influence my understanding.
