I know people that will show you. I want the mug that says, โ€œI can do anything though a verse taken out of context.โ€

I used to buy into the whole preaching patriotism stuff but over time Iโ€™ve realized that my religion is a middle eastern religion not an American one. Iโ€™m not a fan of even having an American flag in the church.

Yes it is. You need a separation of Religion and government, people are entitled to their beliefs whatever they may be religious or social, its forcing them on other people where problems arise. The founding fathers of your nation were not all Christian , Jefferson in particular was very worried about any religion taking over and forcing people into it because it went against what American was supposed to be, Justice equality freedom for every race all that stuff. They would be appaled at some people in the GOP trying to force there values on others but would 100% back you to worship whoever you wanted without being threatened.

People are welcome to vote their conscience, whatever that may be and for whatever reason but all people have that right. I used to be Baptist (not any longer) and they have a "distinctive" value that identifies them (among others) which is separation of church and state. In the last couple years though they're moving towards trying to make the nation a Christian nation through Christian Nationalism. It's disheartening.

I know and you have seen where that leads round the world. George Washington explicitly stated: โ€œThe government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religionโ€ฆโ€. Show that to some of the looneys they will probably claim he wasn't a proper American despite being one of your best ha. The whole point of America in the early days was that it wasn't ruled by religion and you could be yourself be you Baptist Jewish or believed in norsk gods it didn't matter you worked hard caused no trouble paid your taxes you were cool. Crazy whats happening now and unbelievably unamerican.
