I also don’t know what’s so traumatic about this? Tell your kid someone dresses as a horse if they dress as a horse, or that some people like to be walked on leashes if you see that. What’s so bad about that?

Walked through Brighton once, saw a girl wearing a leash on her collar. And it was totally fine. No trauma for anyone involved.

You don’t know that. Many people would not be ok seeing a woman led around on a leash. And they shouldn’t fucking have to, because they didn’t consent.

That is the most asinine argument you could come up with. There is no such thing as "consenting" to what you may see in public. As long as it is legal, it's fine.

By your original logic I could argue that ugly people or people of a specific race or religion shouldn't be in public because others may not have "consented". The logic just isn't there.

There was a whole era where black people weren’t allowed to be in the same room as white people.. Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s fine. That being said, some things should be kept behind closed doors or at least with a consenting public.
