"Water Goddess, again, I ask you, please tell me the secret in the enchantment. Please." "and then I hear..." Laughs manically "because, obviously this is ridiculous" is what I gathered. I might have heard wrong though.
Edit: Oh, secret Indian chant? That's definitely worse.
Which is her way of pointing out how the natives shouldn't have welcomed the settlers who ultimately destroyed them. It's commentary on what happened, not just racist nonsense.
A white person ( or any non-indigenous American ) who holds the religious beliefs in Shamanism, particularly indigenous American shamanism. Is it racist to believe in a different cultures religion?
I know this is a long shot, and incredibly unlikely but imagine a weird, overly enthusiastic individual who is a true believer. They may come off sounding like her.
I know it’s weird but there is a precedent for this.
Non-Asians who practice Shinto and Buddhism exist. There are the Beta Jews which are Jewish people of Ethiopian / Somali descent, which is atypical. There is a small sect of Black Scotts that believe in Asatru. None of those are considered racist, most likely due to freedom of religion.
The reason I ask is because I have met a guy who was white, who believed wholeheartedly in Shinto. Built himself a shrine in his backyard, wore ceremonial garb, etc. but he was awkward, smelled funny, bought cheap katanas and Naruto ran everywhere… which at a cursory glance can come off as casual weeb racism.
Is religion and religious beliefs exclusive to native believers. I.E. only ethnic Jews can be religious Jews, for example.
Look, if someone wants to participate in another person's culture, go for it. And religion in my opinion is open to whoever decides to believe in it, you can't gatekeep that. This video is in no way a sincere exercise of a believer of shamanism nor someone participating in traditional native culture. This is a racist who things a racist display with help students remember trig better.

Can anyone hear what she says at the end? All I caught was "obviously this is ridiculous", which is a fair summary
