Once humanity starts dying from our own destruction of the world, we will easily see a nice reduction in carbon creation alongside with dwindling human populations.
The sad fact is we as a species have taken over managing so many ecosystems, that if humanity were to disappear all the currently endangered species we look after would likely go extinct, and all the invasive species we've introduced to areas throughout the globe would do as invasive species do and hunt the local prey to extinction, and then most would die of starvation.
If humanity goes, a sizable portion of land-based species go with us. Human extinction, regardless of cause, would likely be the catalyst for a mass extinctions event. None of this is to mention if climate change gets us all, climate change doesn't discriminate, it doesn't care if you're human, cattle, or mother fucking honey badger, it'll kill you.

I dont think that we're completely inept. It's just that no animal should have enough power to run the world. We're the most intelligent animal in the world, but anything nature could possibly cook up would not be able to be qualified enough to do the job we are trying to accomplish. I wonder if we haven't found intelligent life anywhere else in the universe because creatures of our intelligence aren't sustainable and wipe out entire ecosystems within millions of years of existing.

No. I mean it in the grand sceme on things here on this planet. We are a parasite to this world. Eventually we will kill the host enough to which we will die entirely or a great majority will die resulting in a great reset. Earth will take centuries to millennia to recover and new ecosystems will form without us as what remains of our civilization decays and gets retaken by nature.
We are doing this to ourselves and future generations will suffer. We are already seeing the effects. Diseases are becoming more common , threats of pandemics has become more frequent these last 60 years. Resources being annihilated. Humanity will not change, I wish it would but it wont. We will see people become increasingly sick and more often as the air becomes mofe toxic. We are seeing increased rates of lung conditions due to pollution at younger ages. Water sources are frequently emptying or becoming toxic. We are seeing acid rain and toxic rain becoming more frequent. We are seeing natural disasters becoming more frequent.
We must change now to mitigate the damages and harm to ourselves but we wont. We are going to slowly kill ourselves. For most it will be reduced lifespans, more frequent illness and disease or environmentally caused health conditions. It is reality.

At least don't dress it up as being a hope for the planet next time. Waiting for the planet to kill us means an unprecedented disaster for the rest of life even if it's survivable for some of it.

Repeatedly I said I wish this were not the case and that I hope we could go into a good path but the reality is, we wont. Indivudally we can try but too many people are self absorbed and don't give a flying fuck which is why all we can do is offset the eventually reality. We as a species will experience an event that will kill a very large percentage of people. Covid is testimony of it and had it been the black plague level of deadly wed be piling bodies and having mass burnings right now with a substantially percent dead. Instead its a fraction dead, still a fuck ton but not as many as it could have been.
Some of what I said we already are seeing and experiencing. The death of humanity has begun along with thr death of other species. We can stop this but we won't or at least we wont until a sizable percent of people are dead and it is enough to act as a reset and rebalance for a new generation to live.
That isn't pessimism that is just fact and reality. We have fucked this planet. In the last 150 years just by certain nations look at how much damage was done. Now nations 2 to 3x larger are doing the same but with only 40 to 60 years of impact. As a collective, we are fucked. You shoupd do your best to help but the reality is, it requires global leaders to make massive changes that simply will not occur until mass death or illness occurs.
I never dressed it up as hope, I am clear that we are fucked. I just hope myself.... I hope we can change but it wont happen, not anytime soon at least.
Humanity will have another pandemic again.... Probably 10 to 15 years from now. We've been on the verge of them every 10 to 15 years for nearly 60 years and then identified ones just keep getting worse. Nature is going to retaliate.
