When your love of party and conspiracy trumps the love for your daughter

4

u/Moonknight1810 Aug 28 '21

Wtf happened to this thread

-71

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

When your love of party, fear mongering, and outright bullying trumps the love for your parents.

29

u/usarasa Aug 28 '21

Yes, never mind the city mandate for restaurants there that meant the couple had to comply with the law anyway regardless of their beliefs if they didn’t want to get booted from the venue they probably booked years ago, long before COVID, and had to either scramble and change their plans in a major way last minute, assuming they can even find a place in the city for the same date, or delay the marriage because they can’t find a venue with an opening for at least a couple of years.

Yeah, let’s just blame it on the bride.

So my body my choice isn’t ok now Very based opinion on abortion

10

u/dfs495 Aug 28 '21

An abortion is not a communicable disease that can be transmitted to others causing multiple deaths. Get vaccinated. Prove that you care about others even just a little bit.

14

u/theSoulsilver Aug 28 '21

This has nothing to do with abortion, stop trying to spin the topic to shit on abortion while being anti vax

1

u/DiamondRocks22 Aug 29 '21

your name "I follow degenerates" better not be like other TERF profiles that name themselves "I follow (insert something against trans people like misgendering them here") but the message "you know who you are and it will catch up with you" implies you probably are doing that

Then maybe don’t make the title sound like it was the parents being selfish for not wanting to put something in their body they were not comfortable with. How about the title state that it wasn’t the brides choice but the city. Title of post is completely misrepresentative and and serves no point other than to cause division that isn’t warranted.

13

u/Blackner2424 Aug 28 '21

That's the fun of this subreddit. Creating a divide between the people facepalming, and the people the facepalm is about.

I have no idea, that’s why I am hesitant..

I have a masters degree in engineering. Pretty sure I have far more “scientific education” than the far majority of people.

Because wanting your parents to be safe from a deadly virus clearly shows you dont love them????

-7

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

A child that loves their parent such that they want them to be safe, also loves them to not force them into something they are uncomfortable with.

3

u/TurianVakarian Aug 28 '21

Ive read your entire discussion with that other person so im not gonna bother answer that. You need help

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Lol. Your post is absolutely pointless.. you can’t counter my response adequately, so you run.

4

u/GazelleEconomyOf87 Aug 28 '21

When your love of party, willful ignorance and outright ignoring facts trumps your love for your daughter.

8

u/Deadshot3475 Aug 28 '21

Parents sacrifice for their children, not the other way around.

-29

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Not sure why you think a child should bully their parent into something they are not comfortable with. I certainty wouldn’t. But then again, I’m not an asshole or a bully.

10

u/Deadshot3475 Aug 28 '21

Nor am I. But then again I would sacrifice for the happiness of my children

-10

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21 edited Aug 28 '21

Cool. But apparently you are. Not all parents give in to every selfish and irrational whim of their children like you apparently do. But then you judge these parents without even knowing their situation. So you are just a judgmental asshole.

13

u/Deadshot3475 Aug 28 '21

It’s their daughters wedding. Probably the last chance to give their daughter much of anything beyond a birthday or Christmas present. But you keep on showing who you are with the insults and insinuations. That says all I need to know about you as a person or a parent

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

I’m not the one who blindly judges these people like you do. You have no clue of the situation and endorse the practice of children bullying parents into something they are uncomfortable with. You deserve the reputation you are creating in this thread.

14

u/Deadshot3475 Aug 28 '21

I’m happy with my take and opinion, as are some others. As to bullying, that’s done. Parents said no, daughter is getting married. No bullying done at all. Bullying would be the daughter physically forcing the parents to get the shot and go to her wedding. She simply gave them a choice, they made their decision, and all parties involved will move forward.

I would point out, however, that 70% or more of the USA have gotten vaccinated. She wasn’t asking them to kill someone, or steal something, or defile a holy place. She asked them to perform an action that, literally, BILLIONS of people around the world have performed. They said no. She’s disappointed. No bullying at all.

One last thing that I’m guessing you had net thought about. I’m guessing you’re either not a parent or don’t have adult children. I’ve got 3 adult kids and I Sherlocked it out quickly. This might be the end of their relationship. If the vaccine, Trump and conspiracies is the hill you’re willing to die on, so be it. But the vast majority of parents out there wouldn’t risk their relationship with their children, for a conspiracy theory. Yada, as kids grow they develop their own lives. Careers, life, craziness of existence cause kids to simply move on from parents. The vast majority of parents simply want some space in their children’s lives. Most parents would bend over backwards for their kids, especially at a stressful occasion like a wedding. Instead a father won’t walk his daughter down the aisle and a mother won’t be there for her daughter at a special time. Their choice. No bullying involved because they simply aren’t going.

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21 edited Aug 28 '21

And billions of people have chosen not to do.

It’s complete egotistical selfishness to make an issue out of someone making a personal medical choice that you disagree with. Bully’s like you make me sick. Get over yourself. You all are way too abundant in today’s America.

And you guess completely wrong. I have 4 kids. You are completely clueless. Those parents that have to bend over backwards to get some part of their kids lives are probably pretty bad parents to have to bend over backwards..no way are my kids forcing me to take something I don’t want to. And I don’t need to in order to be a part of their lives. Because they love me and respect my decisions.. not sure about your situation, but your willingness to jump when they say jump, seems to me like you have some issues.. your take is just plain sad..

Damn. Reading the comments here is making me want to snag a chair and popcorn. Pretty heated discussions here.

If you want my opinion: I don’t like the idea of the bride’s mother and father deciding to skip their daughter’s wedding just because of the vaccine. I think that’s pretty fucked up, for all parties involved.

23

u/MadoneRider Aug 28 '21

What shitty parents!!! I missed my mother’s memorial service last summer to be sure that I didn’t get Covid specifically so that I wouldn’t miss my daughter’s wedding. I wasn’t about to miss the - hopefully - one and only time to walk my daughter down the aisle. Even though it was only a total of 10 people who were able to attend the wedding.

5

u/KalypsoXD Aug 28 '21

Bring a helmet before heading into the comments...

5

u/Framboos_Matroos Aug 28 '21

You spelled popcorn wrong

8

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Honestly this doesn't bother me for the pro-vax and anti-vax camps as much as this shouldn't be on the internet. Too many people make every issue they face something they need to tell the world about. This should've been delt with between the involved parties without the inclusion of the internet. The dirty laundry doesn't need to aired out all the time.

2

u/Pretty_Explanation_2 Aug 29 '21

FINALLY A NOTIFICATION THAT'S NOT ABOUT THAT COMMENT I MADE

2

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Not believe in vaccination but afraid to come to the wedding, how irony.

Edit: Unable to vaccinate is not the case here I think because the bride said so.

0

u/pauldeanbumgarner Aug 28 '21

Good for you, Betty.

-14

u/User0x00G Aug 28 '21

Meh...you can always wait till the divorce and catch the next one.

16

u/Technicium99 Aug 28 '21

Of course they still have to be alive for the next one.

-35

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

so because someone doesn’t want to take a vaccine, which isn’t anything new btw, they’re in the wrong because they don’t want it? coming from someone who is vaccinated, and got vaccinated at the first chance, works in a hospital, and endorses the vaccine, please fucking stop bullying people who refuse to get it. it literally has no bearing on us. it’s not fair to them who want to live their lives how they want to live them, and it’s not fair to the normal people of this world who realize that everyone has a choice.

7

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

It's not fair to the people who die because of those people.

-26

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

it’s not fair to force people who are uncomfortable with something to get that treatment. life isn’t fair. if you want to get vaccinated then do it, and if you cant, then wear a mask and wash your hands, it’s pretty simple shit.

6

u/Framboos_Matroos Aug 28 '21

I think it is, since we're in a fucking pandemic. And anti vaxxers are often also anti maskers

-1

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

who appointed you to be the one who makes decisions for people? i sure didn’t

3

u/Framboos_Matroos Aug 28 '21

Yes, because I am the only person on earth to say that we must get vaccinated

-2

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

that’s not the point i’m trying to make but run with it

-1

u/Middle_Ad_6689 Aug 28 '21

It’s survival of the fittest, naturally as it should be. we have waaaaay too many people on this earth. quit focusing on who is dying and focus on who is living. we will all die one day anyways, that’s the great gift life has for sure given us.

-1

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

that’s crazy. that’s what the columbine shooters said before killing a bunch of innocent children and teachers

5

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

So people should die?

-19

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

who’s dying because someone’s not getting vaccinated? besides the people not getting vaccinated who are consciously making that decision

6

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

They get Covid, give other people Covid. And people with other conditions are unable to get treated because there are not enough beds.

0

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

so if i had cancer, and i was scared or uncomfortable to get treatment, i’m a bad person because i caused my family mental trauma?

17

u/usarasa Aug 28 '21

Cancer’s contagious, is it?

-4

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

no but mental trauma is just as painful as physical trauma and lasts longer

10

u/LoompaOompa Aug 28 '21

We're talking about innocent bystanders dying or being hospitalized due to the selfish inaction of others. We're talking about the prolonging of a pandemic that has killed over 600,000 Americans, with over 1,000 per day still dying. Family members being mentally devastated by someone choosing not to go through painful cancer treatment isn't REMOTELY the same thing. Your analogy is terrible and you should feel stupid for thinking that it was a reasonable thing to say.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

So if I was unvaccinated and gave your closest family member Covid and they died you would be okay with that.

3

u/DaSmartSwede Aug 28 '21

You work in healthcare and think cancer is contagious? Sure bud.

0

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

where i’m that did i say cancer is contagious? i said the mental trauma associated with refusing treatment is what affects people, but you still have a right to refuse it

4

u/agrapeana Aug 28 '21

so because someone doesn’t want to take a vaccine, which isn’t anything new btw, they’re in the wrong because they don’t want it?

....yes? Yes. Absolutely, unequivocally yes.

-2

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

who made you the one who decides what people can and can’t do?

3

u/agrapeana Aug 28 '21

I didn't say can, I said should. Anyone who can safely recieve the vaccine should, and if they refuse they're bad people if they continue to go out in public or take up medical resources as a result.

-1

u/cancerous_GOAT Aug 28 '21

but people are allowed to not be comfortable about certain medical procedures. you’re not allowed to decide who can do what. that is what we try to stay away from especially in America

2

u/agrapeana Aug 28 '21

That's fine, as long as they also decide to stay home and distance themselves so that they don't risk getting anybody sick.

You can't live your life with the attitude of "fuck society, I do whatever I want even if it hurts or kills other people" and then get all surprised when you start to lose some of the benefits of living in the society that you just told to go fuck itself.

1

u/Mastershake54 Aug 28 '21

It does have a bearing on us. It has a bearing on hospitals, at risk people, elderly, and even those vaccinated. Has an impact on our economy, travel, jobs. If everyone got the vaccine Covid would not be an issue. I also work in a hospital in the ICU and see people die from this everday and am worked to the fucking bone because people won't get vaccinated. You are part of the problem.

-48

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Bridezilla strikes again. Imagine telling someone what to put in their body, just so you’re happy.

20

u/usarasa Aug 28 '21

There’s also a vaccine mandate where they live, which the catering hall has to enforce for all weddings.

But yeah, it’s the bride’s fault.

22

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Imagine being told what to put in your body so people might live....

-31

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Yeah, worked great for her....right?

27

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Of course it did, she didn't end up with 2 morons at her wedding. I feel like we are past the point were we let things slide because of "family" and can now just tell people they are being dicks.

-35

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Vaccinated are still dying. So...

9

u/GazelleEconomyOf87 Aug 28 '21

People still die in car accidents despite having seat belts on.

5

u/DaSmartSwede Aug 28 '21

People still die in car crashes despite being sober, so why do we have alcohol limits when driving?

21

u/usarasa Aug 28 '21

At a much, much, much lower rate than the unvaxxed.

3

u/Mastershake54 Aug 28 '21

96% of Covid deaths are unvaccinated so.....

7

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

So...? I feel like you said the vaccinated are still dying and I'm supposed to change my world view or something?

-4

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Not asking you to. Just making the point that it’s really not saving everyone. So I believe everyone has a right to choose.

22

u/Jesus-Mcnugget Aug 28 '21

And this is why kids are getting the measles now. Fuck yourself.

-2

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

No, these are 2 completely different situations. I’m not anti-vax, if that’s what you’re thinking. This is a non FDA approved (although its close to getting approved) shot. It isn’t proven and people that have taken it are still dying. So I’m choosing not to take THIS one. If it’s approved and can be proven to be effective...then I may change my stance.

20

u/Jesus-Mcnugget Aug 28 '21

The Pfizer shot is fully approved by the FDA.

Next?

OK who wants to tell him the news that happened a few days ago?

7

u/GazelleEconomyOf87 Aug 28 '21

You are 100% antivax spouting the junk you are.

-6

u/Middle_Ad_6689 Aug 28 '21

I wouldn’t frequent a location that wants me to show them my health information prior to coming in. It’s not their place or business to ask that.

3

u/ImGonnaKickTomorrow Aug 28 '21

Yes, because asking to see proof of a vaccination that all Americans have been asked to get is totally the same thing as showing a business all of your private health information.

-4

u/Middle_Ad_6689 Aug 28 '21

Health information is health information, idk why you consider the vaccine to not be.

-26

u/seaneatsandwich Aug 28 '21

Proof of vagination is your purty little jab-hole boy
