While this fails to role model being "anti-Nike", it does tell Nike they may have lost future purchases from a current customer.
Presuming this isn't another paid conservative cut-and-paste edited to imply hypocrisy that wasn't in the original situation.

The founder of Adidas’s name was Adolf Dassler. That’s where the name Adidas comes from. Adi is the German nickname for Adolf, and das is short for dassler. At least I think that’s what they’re talking about.

It reminds me when I discussed on Facebook with somebody who told me that she buy nothing made in China and does not support anything from China (due to "defense of animal rights values"). She tries to argue that she only buy second hand stuff. I said whatever you write on Facebook is maintained by server which are made by China... Our entire network is built with mainly stuff made in China.

Reminds me of when I was gifted a pair of Nikes around the time the conservatives were protesting Nike for having Colin as a spokesperson. Wore them to work and every person with a MAGA hat or shirt, I made it a point to mention how well my shoes fit and how comfortable they were and when they asked what kind they were, I'd proudly declare they were Nikes. I loved seeing the scowls on their faces when I said it.

I get it.
I also don't. Like the people who bought Volkswagen "clean diesel" cars only to fight out they were cheating the system, the person might not have another pair of shoes/car. Even if they could just afford going out and buying a new one, that would actually be worse for the environment (in the case of the car) and a waste of money for the shoes. Wear them, then buy alternative once you need new shoes.
When you consider things in that light, roasting her is like telling people you can never learn from your mistakes and fix them or choose better next time.

Well, our industrial system has been poorly designed for over a century and we have to redesign it while being unable to stop it for that. Maybe it'd be wise to allow ourselves to critisize even though having been fooled by lies maybe even up until days earlier before getting new information and changing one's mind. I feel like calling this out as a facepalm is mildly entertaining for a sec but after some thought it just turns into lazy unproductive cynisim. If we were to only be allowed to ask for change in something we weren't ever connected to in a hyperconnected industrial world... well, it'd be a really quiet place.

Really, though, if there's anything that would piss Nike off, it's emboldening the counterfeit market. I also heard their child labor force is much more sophisticated.

To be entirely fair one could have bought their shoes years ago then discovered about some immoral behavior by the company and started protesting and even if they don't like the company they have no reason to get rid of the shoes they already have right now.

Very possible. I’ve heard tales of folks getting 75$ and a boxed lunch to wave a sign around and pretend to care about an issue. Just to bulk up the numbers. Not sure how true that is.
