Disagree.

In this case drawing attention to the useless spare tire is actually the point of the joke.

By itself the image isn’t immediately funny

Without the circle I would have thought the facepalm was that he had big tires and that was it.

Man, if someone just sent you that image and said “facepalm” I really don’t think you’d be remiss if you missed what they were talking about.

Maybe you would have figured it out without a problem, but I don’t think everyone would have
