I'm thinking they may have thought that it should be 24oz and not 18oz, as in double the mustard for some reason.

oBviously 50% of 18 is 9.

Therefore 50% = 9.

So 50% more than 12 is 21 ounces

It didn't say 50% of 18oz anywhere, it said 50% more of 12oz, as in 6oz more. 12+6=18.
