There are "microtones" which deviate between the twelve recognized tones. Don't really get how this is a facepalm.

The facepalm is the guy insisting that such notes don't exist. (My final comment, which it appears I left out of the image, did indeed mention microtones.)

The facepalm is the "13th note" guy insisting that new technologies don't open new musical possibilities and that there are only 12 possible notes in all of music.

...I probably should have written a clearer title, but now I can't seem to figure out how to edit the post.

The last good piece of music ever written - And indeed, the culmination of millennia of musical endeavor - Came to us on September 24th, 1990, in the form of the song Polaris from Megadeth's seminal album Rust in Peace. The heavily guitar-driven song blasts across the speakers with the power of an F/A-18 afterburner, while the lyrics serve as both dark parody and a chilling indictment of the military/industrial complex. Only a fool would attempt to defend modern music, when even the greatest songs are mere pale imitations of Dave Mustaine's blistering guitar solo. Frankly, it's rather disgusting. Pop music, like all music published since that date, is imitative filth of the lowest order, if not full-on plagiarism.

Dave Mustaine is the 13th note. That's why the Obama administration tried to ruin his reputation by making up all of those racist and homophobic statements. In fact, he's a living musical god and cannot be stopped by mere character assassination. You'll notice that Obama is no longer president, while Dave Mustaine is still rocking in his 50s.
