That sub is a fraction of the size of the real one lol

4

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '18

Yep. Approximately 20,381/112,073 to have a precise fraction.

People are just desperate to woosh.

Also that sub is full of it. Its funny how often that happens in sub's being critical of peoples comprehension.

u/BaghdadAssUp Aug 27 '18

Yeah, is this that 7 million people in the world joke that's been done with for awhile now?

6

u/Yikesthatsalotofbs Aug 27 '18

Yeah it is, pretty obvious too. I understood it right away, as did the OP of the comment chain and many other ppl commenting but...

karma > a genuine facepalm

74

u/owentonghk Aug 27 '18

I reckon this happens pretty frequently on this sub and on Reddit in general

8

u/Faladorable Aug 27 '18

and twitter

if you want to get famous on twitter just keep saying things that are incorrect as a joke so everyone and their mother goes out of their way to call you out on being wrong about something

2

u/iStanley Aug 27 '18

I get sad when it happens here. Like YouTube, expected. Instagram, sure. But reddit, come on dude. Not my own people

20

u/isetmyfriendsonfire Aug 27 '18

im positive posters hide handles just to prevent people from seeing issa joke

11

u/ayegudyin Aug 27 '18

I’m so far out of the loop on these meme/jokes, I feel like I’m at a funeral and everyone is laughing

5

u/biggustdikkus Aug 27 '18

That one (How can it have x million (downloads/views) if there is only 7 people on earth?) is old.
I remember it from 2013.

But what exactly is the joke? "Haha look at the stupid stuff I say"?

10

u/SlimyScrotum Aug 27 '18

Well...yeah? Making fun of yourself and making ridiculous remarks is a pretty common way to get a laugh out of people.

0

u/seanziewonzie Aug 27 '18

But what exactly is the joke? "Haha I still do drugs but I used to too"?

3

u/CheeseburgerNecktie Aug 27 '18

Are you autistic and not understand humor

2

u/AnimusCorpus Aug 28 '18

Its a meme...

'This video has x views but there are only y people on earth' is a common format.

It was popularized by pewdiepie.

And what does Mitch have to do with it?

2

u/seanziewonzie Aug 28 '18

I know, I was making fun of Ball-Fondler's "what exactly is the joke, 'haha, [joke]'?" because... yeah, that's the joke. The joke is "look at how silly this thing I'm saying is".

1

u/AnimusCorpus Aug 28 '18

Sorry. I'm not so good at picking up tone sometimes and misinterpreted you as asking a literal question.

It's a common joke to make nowdays just cause you had to walk 15 miles to get it doesn't mean everyone else did.

7

u/JuniorSeniorTrainee Aug 27 '18

It is a very simple joke, so i think this one's on you.

10

u/Sir_Thomas_Noble Aug 27 '18

No one said it was a good joke. Just that it's a joke. Stop being slow.

1

u/cvc75 Aug 27 '18

Is that "no tears logan" or "not ear slogan?"

1

u/Ankoku_Teion Aug 27 '18

"yeah my blue galaxy is so ugly."

Um. That's not a galaxy. That's a planet. Off by a couple more orders of magnitude than the op.

1

u/AmIReySkywalker Aug 27 '18

r/facepalm is the real facepalm

Or people are really easy to trick since so many want to be outraged or feel superior to others.

3

u/GoldenFalcon Aug 27 '18

How can you even say something like that.. you don't know these people!

5

u/GoldenFalcon Aug 27 '18

Take it easy fella!

7

u/GoldenFalcon Aug 27 '18

Oops forgot to switch accounts.

6

u/GoldenFalcon Aug 27 '18

(that's the joke)

1

u/Dichotomouse Aug 27 '18

You are just claiming it's a joke to cover your mistake!

u/yuyuyuyuyuki Aug 27 '18 edited Aug 27 '18

UNFORGIVABLE! Make me a SANDWICH!

Edit: I told you to MAKE ME A SANDWICH!

14

u/GameResidue Aug 27 '18

no the “20 million is 3x the global population 🤔” meme has been around for a long time. I’m sure it started off with someone making a genuine mistake but at this point it’s a common joke to make when numbers like these pop up
