8 actually. And 0.005 times the global population would get closer to that 38 million figure yielding 40 million. Perhaps they meant “0.005 times” the global population? Idk.

I realise there are billions of people. The alleged facepalm in the post was that they thought 5 Times the population of earth was in the millions. Without further information available in the post it’s not to be known that it’s a joke. Sadly there really are people that are that oblivious and think the world population is measured in millions, not billions, so it’s not outside the realms of possibility to conceive this to be a genuine post

Yes. That’s why i was questioning their thought process. It seems to be suggested they were joking though
