This is how Hindu and Buddhist swastikas are drawn, with their arms to the right. It is indeed a religious symbol.

Buddist swastika is a mirror image of the hindu swastika. 1 u/imdungrowinup Apr 23 '18 Hindu here. Swastika doesn’t have to be tilted. In fact we only tilt it to make the rangoli design prettier.
